Full Body Cleanse
-
ernest_t_bassAnyone ever do a full body cleanse or a colon cleanse? If so, what are your recommendations? I did an "Evercleanse" (http://www.evercleanse.com/) before, but I have no idea of the results b/c it was right when I quit drinking for a year, which gives you the shits anyway.
I'm probably looking at $30 max, if anyone has any ideas. -
Big_time_fanJust ask CCRunner. If you're a teenage boy, I'm sure he'll clean your colon.

like_thatI haven't done it, because I am not an idiot.

LOL. Um, OK? Cleansing makes you an idiot? Don't get me wrong, I know I'm an idiot, but for other reasons than wanting to cleanse my body of toxins.like_that;1036885 wrote:I haven't done it, because I am not an idiot. -
Commander of AwesomeWhat toxins ETB?

Eat the right food, and you don't need to take 9 pills a day to cleanse your body.ernest_t_bass;1036888 wrote:LOL. Um, OK? Cleansing makes you an idiot? Don't get me wrong, I know I'm an idiot, but for other reasons than wanting to cleanse my body of toxins. -

Perhaps, but I'm not looking for diet tips. I'm looking for a good body cleanse. Not surprised that went over your head. (ZING).like_that;1036893 wrote:Eat the right food, and you don't need to take 9 pills a day to cleanse your body. -

You aren't supposed to use a cleanse because it washses out the good bacteria too.ernest_t_bass;1036896 wrote:Toxins from the shit I put in my body on a daily basis, from fast food, to preservatives, etc. No, not weed. -
Commander of AwesomeReal detoxification of foreign substances takes place in the liver, which modifies their chemical structure so they can be excreted by the kidneys which filter them from the blood into the urine. --Stephen Barrett, M.D.
"Toxin" is classic pseudoscience terminology." --Ben Goldacre, M.D.
"...these detox programs amount to a large quantity of excrement, both literally and figuratively.” --Peter Pressman, M.D.
Thus, while detoxification therapies abound, there doesn't seem to be any compelling reason the average person should consider using any of them. They are not based on solid scientific evidence. They are sold to the general public mainly by appealing to fear (of being poisoned by our foods, water, air, and general modern environment) and hope (of good health, feeling better or less tired, and the like). Worst of all, the word 'detoxification' when used by the sellers of foods, drinks, herbs, and machines, is almost always so vague, ambiguous, or obscure as to be meaningless. The purveyors of these products fancy themselves to be offering a progressive response to the modern world with its many sources of pollutants that find their way into our bodies. In reality, these snake oil hucksters are akin to the pre-scientific physicians and barbers who used bloodletting to remove 'bad humors' and poisons in an effort to cleanse their patients.

Stop being an idiot and lose weight the old fashion way ETB.

THE4RINGZAre you looking to do one of those "cleanses" that rids your body of all the compacted fecal matter like you see advertsied on infomercials?

Really, the only reason I want to cleanse is to take a picture of the afterbirth, duh.THE4RINGZ;1036910 wrote:Are you looking to do one of those "cleanses" that rids your body of all the compacted fecal matter like you see advertsied on infomercials? -

I wasn't giving you diet tips, I was just guiding you to the correct way to naturally cleanse your body instead of resorting to taking 9 pills a day. Not surprised that went over your head. If your fat ass wants to try and take the easy way out by using pills to help you shit out all the crap you eat, then so be it. Hint: It won't work.ernest_t_bass;1036900 wrote:Perhaps, but I'm not looking for diet tips. I'm looking for a good body cleanse. Not surprised that went over your head. (ZING). -

I get plenty of exercise the time of year. For the remainder of the basketball season, I have dropped beer/alcohol and caffeine/pop. Those are two big ones. I'm just looking for something to help rid my body of some of the built up toxins that I know I have accumulated. Instead of being like_that, perhaps provide me information on some good natural alternatives?like_that;1036918 wrote:I wasn't giving you diet tips, I was just guiding you to the correct way to naturally cleanse your body instead of resorting to taking 9 pills a day. like_thatCan't wait for ETB to start a fail thread a few months down the line asking us for thoughts on a colonoscopy. /sarcasm

LJernest_t_bass;1036916 wrote:Link?tract can be harmful. Nor is there any evidence that doing so is efficacious either. Colon cleansing very likely does remove beneficial bacteria; however, there have been no reported cases of harm resulting due to a depletion of bacteria from this sort of treatment. Bacteria, if anything, are resilient, reproduce quickly and will re-establish itself in the gut. However, if nature teaches us anything it is that disrupting the environmental niches of an organism will often result in unforeseen consequences. Environmental changes must occur gradually so that organisms have time to adapt.

THE4RINGZI ate too much pork and sauerkraut on New Year's Day, that seemed to clean out my colon Monday, and I think I only paid $1.79 for the bag of kraut.
