PaladinI always find these types of threads humorous. Much of this is an outgrowth of the conservatives and their continuing perception of loss of perceived "control" over the country. Courts have struck down the govt displays of "religious themes" and businesses taking a neutral postion using a Happy Holdiay theme in not offending anyone. The point has ALWAYS been, if YOU want to make a religious display at your home of your choice or wish someone a Merry Christmas, no one is stopping you. However, to let you dicate your bullsh!t ideas on everyone isn't going to fly anymore. Tough cookies. Anyone who wishes me either Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas gets a similar reply. Businesses decorating for the holidays is fine even if they only say happy holidays. But there is always some azzhole looking to cause trouble. And always for some stupid religious reason they want to impose on all.

Knee jerk reaction or inter feeling? Feeling taught or expressed by family member or friends or even learned by personal experiences. It happens...
2. Never in your life used slang words to describe nationalities? Maybe that protected box you live in you’re clueless to what is the slang for some nationalities. I’m sure Upper can fill you in ….Am I correct Upper?
3. Let not forget the gender bigotry ……Boobs and Booty Thread “What to bang that shit”
I would have to say if you are guilty of any two of the above please delete your racist and bigot comment about me because you are no different from me …Racist and bigot aren’t we all.
Christmas is the time of year when Christians celebrate the Birth of Christ in short a Christian Holiday. The retail profiteering has diminished the Christmas to the point of tell their workers that Merry Christmas is not politically correct and the usage of other more pleasing slogan is required. Why because the other non-Christian will be offended.
I’m sorry but why should Christian compromise their belief and the traditions, songs and symbols of Christmas. Why should I have to alter traditions for being a Christian, if the other spiritual groups want to pile onto Christmas then live with the traditions of a Christian Christmas. I will not waver this is a Christian Holiday show me the manger, play those Christian Worship Song and the Merry Christmas banner. Also after the purchase of gifts to be put under the Christmas tree is made a Merry Christmas is in order clerk person.

I would venture to say that 60% of the people that replied this way have no clue and could not shed any light to what Hanukkah is, nor the important meaning behind Hanukkah. To those of you that are Jewish does that not offend you? It like they are mocking you. I do know the important of the event and respect the tradition from the 19th to the 25th. Problem is my savior is born and has come yours has not. Maybe I should show a little more respect and say Merry Hanukkah…what do you think?

Hmmmm.....replacing a pagan holiday with a Christian one.....that's NEVER happened! While not religious, I have no issues with those who are (my relationship with my mother would take a hit if I did). I do agree that we all, in some way, have our own racist/bigot reservations. We don't bring them to the forefront of our personalities, but they do exist... really, if we like it or not. They're there.
My only beef (at this time of year) are the people who get so offended by what people say. If someone tells me Happy Holidays, so be it. I'm OK with that. Life is too short for me to get offended by something like that. -

I'm offended by the fact that many groups use the Christmas to promote their spritiual claims but want to alter our Christian standards of traditions. I don't waver from my values and tradition. Am I to be the " Hate One of the Freehuddle because I don't waver from my inherited rights? In the retail area the promotion of Christmas is the big sales for the end of the year (this can make of brake the profits of many stores) but refuse to express the true nature of Christmas...Birth of Christ.
