  Correct verdict. I applaud the jury. No emotion, just facts. Can't prove she did it even tho all of them probably believe she did. I'd love to know how everything went down.

  That, and probably a strong "CSI effect". It was all circumstantial, but the dots pretty well connected to her being involved. I don't think I could have voted for the death penalty, but she should have rotted in prison for the rest of her life.
  
  To make matters worse, I wonder if she'll get time served for the 4 counts of lying to police (1 year each, I think she's been in jail for 3 years waiting for trial).

  Taxpayers paid for them because she was indigent at the time. She is free and clear to rake in the cash selling her story and interviews and whatnot while we footed the bill for her defense.
  
  I hope to God that she doesn't have any more kids. She should be sterilized as far as I'm concerned, but something tells me it won't be long before we get reports that she is pregnant again. After a 3 year dry spell she is going to be nailing anything with a pulse, and she just seems like the type that is going to revel in being a pariah. Nothing would bring her more attention than announcing she is expecting again, and I suspect she will happily rub peoples nose in it that she got away with murder.

  Maybe. I thought neglect would have been a slam dunk...Assuming it was a drowning accident, you don't know that 911 couldn't have saved her. So by their own defense of covering up an accidental death, that seems automatic for neglect to me. Then, of course, you'd have the issue of disposing of a body that way (which has to violate SOME law). You are probably right about the prosecution wanting to go for the max, but maybe also they didn't want to confuse the jury or give them options with such lesser charges.

  Yeah, from what I have read in the media thus far there is a very good chance she is going to go home w/ time served on Thursday. It is surreal to think she is going to be a free woman most likely that day. I can't imagine her parents would welcome her back into the home, but with that family who really knows at this point.

  That's the worst part. I think convicted felons are barred by law from profiting from their story, but since she was only found guilty of lying to the police I assume she is free to sell her story. That may be the most disgusting aspect of it - bad enough an innocent 2-yr old died but now that the mother should profit from it?

  She is free and clear of "Son of Sam" laws because according to the jury, no crime took place and she had nothing to do with the death. She will be a millionaire in the not so distant future between the book deal, made for tv movie, and "licensing fees" of pictures and whatnot for interviews in the future (that is how media companies avoid directly paying for interviews).
  
  That is why I said earlier she now has the life she has always wanted. She will be rich, not bogged down with a child, and free to party/screw like a rabbit until her heart's content. In her wildest dreams I am not sure she could have envisioned it working out any better for herself.
  
  Just like we saw with OJ, she may be a pariah, but there will always be a segment of the population happy to hop on the gravy train and tag along regardless of what she did. He was a similar pariah, but still had the big house, lots of women, and those willing to look past the fact he was a monster.

  I bolded charge, it should be convict (since she was charged just not convicted). Agreed with everything you say. What I personally believe doesn't matter. In this case, there is no prrof beyond a reasonable doubt that she murdered her child.

  I think CNN and hln should be embarrassed of their commentary today. This is unreal. Most unprofessional reporting I've ever seen. Nancy Grace has been just ridiculous!! Calling her a killer on air after she was found not guilty. Sure I think she had something to do with it too. But she was found not guilty. Report on what you know is fact, not what they as commentators think happened.

  I personally think the justice system actually worked the way it is meant to. It was innocent until proven guilty. The prosecution could not prove she was guilty.

  Of the little bit of news I have gotten to see or read since the verdict was read, I don't get all the hate for the jury??? The prosecution is the ones that F'd this up!!! The jury did exactly what they should have done based on the case laid out by prosecutors!
