I can't believe they are setting this match for Wrestlemania already. Why can't they just continue to fight here and there? Can't they do it after the day after Wrestlemania 27?
I think this is poor from the WWE. They have nothing else to use to entertain RAW so they do what is completely expected (Rock v. Cena). Not only was this match already predicted, probably many times from many people, they are going to lose a lot of momentum of the rivalry over the course of the year. -
Little DannyYeah, bad form by the WWE. You don't drag this out for an entire year with the heat this thing currently has. I understand wanting to do it at Wrestlemania, but that this is just too far out there. What they should have done is let the pound on each other a little tonight, getting the crowd in a frenzy. At that point have Vince strut down the aisle to put the kabosh on it saying that this matchup deserves to be in the spotlight. Therefore, he declares they are to stay away from one another until the main event at Summer Slam. Of course, over the next few months, the two will egg each other on, making comments in interviews, interfering in matches, etc. Having the Rock come out and say they will fight at WM28 and extend a handshake is weak sauce.
One more point, you do realize Cena will win right? You can't have the past come in to destroy your talent of today and tomorrow. The Rock is being brought back to legitimize Cena to all of the people who can't stand the guy and profess the previous group was better than what is out there today. It will be a passing of the torch match. For that, I will not be looking forward to their eventual matchup up. -
osu45804Tough Enough looks like it's going to be a great show.... Austin is the perfect choice to be the lead trainer/host for this show

You cannot start with a crappy Cole/Lawler match, especially when Stone Cold is one of the [three] highlights of the PPV. I think they put the matches in the right order, there were some semi-exciting ones before they built it up for the exciting matches/entrances. They didn't go too long with some of the matches, which is really good. I do think they drug out the Cole/Lawler ordeal, I will agree that the Snoop Dogg stuff was awful, and the Rock's Wrestlemania 27 introduction message was too long.
I continue to dislike Randy Orton, CM Punk, The Miz, John Cena, and the lack of "real" tag teams. Randy Orton, John Cena and Miz may be good with a mic, they are awful at acting inside the ring. They cannot get hit without putting their extra dramatic "act" into it. It'd be great if they learned from those that were good with a mic and in the ring. It would be awesome if the WWE put together good tag teams again, The Road Warriors, The Dudley Boyz, The Steiner Brothers, and numerous others can be thrown into the mix were all great tag teams. Now, they just throw random people into the ring together and call them a "tag team."
On a side note, a good friend of mine said that the WWE is dropping the "wrestling" from their name and just strictly going by the formal "WWE" name. Has anyone else heard this? Apparently this is yet another move to the PG-13(esque) wrestling. Taking a lot of the action out of it. Thinking about it, it does make sense. The only thing that was really used last night was a single chair. Yes, the Spanish table was crushed as was Cole's plastic box. But there was no usage of HHH's sledge, no tables (there's always tables!), no sex appeal (which I don't have that much of a problem with, it got over-sexed for a long time), and then you partner this with all the RAWs being very little wrestling and all mic-work. Lame.
So, Undertaker is now 19-0. How much will he be used until next Wreslemania? If Wrestlemania 28 is going to be his last one, who will it be against? My guess is with Kane. It brings his career full-circle doesn't it? I also think it'd be great to bring back Paul Bearer for it. I think that'd be a great way to end his legendary career. It's hard to argue that his character hasn't been one of the best characters developed in the history of the WWE/F.

The fact that the Royal Rumble winner not only opens the show, but loses is 11 minutes is a slap to the face.
The Danielson (I refuse to call him the other name)/Sheamus match was removed from a four hour card is disgraceful. Let me repeat that, FOUR FUCKING HOURS! We also had two matches that were squashes, i.e. under three minutes, and lets not even talk about the Snooki ordeal (BTW, she was a cheerleader. A back-handspring is not a wrestling move).
The HHH/Undertaker match was nothing short of a spot fest. Don't get me wrong, it was the most entertaining match on the card, but it was still a spot fest nonetheless.
As if you can't tell, I believe this Wrestlemania was among the worst ones that they have ever done.
Dragging out a feud for a year is pretty much impossible, especially with weekly shows. -

Announcing it this early, can only go down hill.
I actually thought it would be Taker/Cena at WM28. -
The EqualizerWCW spent a year building Sting and Hogan and it was one of the best storylines they ever did. Give it time.

Sting never spoke though and watched from the Rafters (for a while). -

And the payoff sucked ass. Just saying. -

What the WWE shoulda done is this:

They could've used the Rock and Cena getting into it every other week and people would be thrilled. They could've let interference happen all the time. The Rock could've came back during Cena's SummerSlam match -- then they could've set a Wrestlemania 28 match. Anything but A YEAR AWAY! They are going to come up with more "fillers" to take up time because they are trying to keep this "rivalry" going. Here goes more Snoop Dogg-esque time at RAW and other PPVs. That's lame. The reason the WWE sucks right now is because of that. Let it continue to build and build and build before it's set. Is it expected by the time August rolls around? Who cares?! They don't have this other boring "filler" crap. -
Cleveland BuckI remember arguing on message boards about this kind of thing 12 years ago. I rarely watch the shit anymore, and haven't for a long time, but I did check out Raw last night to see what happened at WM after I heard The Rock came back for it. It's a shame the most enjoyable parts of the show were Austin and The Rock. The Miz looks like he could turn into something someday, but he is probably too small for McMahon to give him a proper push. And no matter what Cena does, the fans will be behind The Rock and will be pissed when Rock puts him over next year. There is a reason they have been trying to legitimize Cena for the last 8 years and can't do it, yet the Rock comes back to huge ovations even though half of their fans weren't even born the last time he was there. Cena is a douche bag. He will never be a Hogan, HBK, Undertaker, Austin, Rock type of legend. Now back to not paying attention until next Wrestlemania.
-
End of Line^^^Cena's only fans are kids. For being the top "face" 90% of the fan base hate him.
Kids today probably think he's better than Sting, HBK, Bret Hart, Hogan, Austin, and The Rock. These guys are true legends I grew up watching during the greatest era of wrestling. The Monday Night Wars and the Attitude Era. -
JugheadI can't stop laughing at this...

I don't know what's funnier:
The fact that the girl is clueless of wrestling history
Stone Cold's reaction
The match that she mentioned herself. -
Lovejoy1984I loved that clip. I knew she was gone at that moment.

osu45804WWE issued the following yesterday:
Superstars Fined for Chair Shot
Pursuant to WWE's Concussion policy, the stunt of using a folded metal chair shot to the head is prohibited. Triple H and The Undertaker have both been fined for violating this policy at WrestleMania XXVII. WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension for violation of this policy, which is unchanged and still in effect.

Go4alOngbOmBYep, that 10 dollar fine will really get them in line....how the hell is the WWE going to host an "EXTREME" pay per view in less than a month if they want to take out things that have been there since wrestlings inception.
Sounds to me like they are just trying to save face for some odd reason, and I don't know why. -

This goes back to the PG-13(esque) WWE that I mentioned earlier:

It looks as if the WWE is trying to be more child-friendly. The "Don't Do This At Home" approach. Ensuring that no one can say, "I learned how to do 'this move' from the WWE." -

They've been going this route for a couple of years now. -
The EqualizerThey're concerned about this PR movement which thinks concussions in sports/athletics are the worst thing thats ever happened. Like someone said it's just covering their ass to lessen potential legal liability down the road.
-
Little DannyOne name stands to reason for the chair shot: Chris Benoit
-
Go4alOngbOmBI'd be willing to bet that they wouldn't even let old George Steele eat the turnbuckles anymore, for fear some kid may choke to death on their couch. (Because their retard parents left them unattended while they were doing a quarter mountain of blow in the kitchen)
Yea, society is too damn touchy feely these days, what is next, cut down all tree's because kids might climb them and fall out? Give me a frickin BREAK! -
OSHNow there's finally a news report on "wrestling" no longer being in the WWE.
Here's more goals of their "rebranding" or "makeover." -
KnightXC1There is nothing wrong with WWE waiting a year for Rock/Cena. It allows the Rock to go shoot movies and Cena to go about business as usual until about the Royal Rumble. Then you can really start building this up again. No one is going to forget about it.
-
enigmaaxSo, off topic...
I chatted briefly with Hulk Hogan at LAX a few weeks ago. I said, "You should just put the belt on Mr. Anderson for the next 12 years."
He chuckled a little bit and said, "We'll see what happens."
I said, "I doubt anyone is going to see what happens in TNA." -
bigdaddy2003I just saw Hulk at a convention in Cincinnati on Saturday. I wanted to meet him but he left before anyone had the chance.
