WWE Fans: The Royal Rumble...And the Road to WrestleMania
-
Lovejoy1984Miz with the win!
-
GoChiefsThe Rock just pissed off a bunch of kids..my son included. Lol
-
osu45804Wow!
-
devil1197Rock v. Cena set up?
-
Lovejoy1984That sets up a Rock-Cena match.
-
Lovejoy1984Now the Miz is getting beat by the rock.
I'm just happy Miz won the title match. -
devil1197I wonder how loud that place got when the Rock landed the RB on Cena.
-
osu45804Usually the first few months after WrestleMania is boring, But I'm curious to see what Vince is going to do w/ The Rock angle
-
End of LineOther than Taker/HHH and The Rock. This WM sucked ass.
Sting made the right decision to turn to down the WWE. -
OSHThe Miz still sucks.
The loudest (it seemed) the crowd got is when Stone Cold and the Rock did anything. The HHH v. Undertaker match was a good one though too.
Other than that, it was a pretty boring event. Without Stone Cold, Rock, and HHH/Undertaker, the WWE would be a snoozefest. I just wonder if Hacksaw, The Road Warriors, and Abdullah the Butcher sat in the back and talked about how good it used to be. I also wonder if they got the hankering to go back out there one more time to show people what it's like to be a showman AND a wrestler at the same time. -
puffyisbackCouple of thoughts:
1) Trish is smokin hot
2) Randy vs Punk was a really good match
3) HHH-Taker.....wowwwwwwwww I put it behind hbk-taker 1, but in front of hbk-taker 2
4) SUMMERSLAM WILL BE THE MOST BOUGHT PPV EVER (ROCK VS CENA)
Couple of notes from my buddy who was there:
-HHH'S entrance was even better in person
-Kofi got a lot of love during his entrance
-When HHH gave Taker the tombstone, most in attendance thought it was over and started crying. -
End of Line^^^
Tonight was one of the first time's I actually thought Taker was going to lose.
I haven't been that into a match since Kurt Angle/HBK at WM21. -
quaker0764How many people were expecting HBK to cost HHH the match?
-
End of LineI thought HBK would do something, but not cost HHH the match.
-
LeonardoI thought there was a lot of deadspots. The Snoop Dogg segment was dumb and took up time. I understand The Rock opening the show, but the first match didn't start until nearly 7:15.
The PPV itself, I thought was pretty good. HHH-Undertaker was great and I liked how Cena-Miz-The Rock ended up. -
End of LineI was very upset that Sheamus/Bryan got taken off the card.
The tag matches were pointless. -
osu45804TEAM BRING IT - I have a very special announcement tonight on RAW...The People's Champ to The People...

Rock the GM? Rock wants a match vs Cena at Summerslam? -
I Wear PantsI made the mistake of going to a BW3s last night. Didn't know there was WrestleMania and it was filled with the type of people that I don't like being in a restaurant with.
-
HereticI'd guess it be Rock vs. Cena being set up. Can't see him being the GM unless they're dead set on making him pure heel, considering the GM did reverse ANNOUNCER WARZ to go in favor of Cole.

Did anyone dressed as their favorite wrestler try to drunkenly stage dive through a table? Because that'd be a pretty epic evening if you got to watch that! -
bigdaddy2003Couple things:
1. The match order blew donkey dicks. No reason for a title match to be first when you have junk like Cole/Lawler and the Snooki ordeal.
2. Wow with Snooki's athleticism.
3. I miss the late 90's and early 2000's. Rock, Stone Cold, DX group vs Nitro. Wrestling has went WAY down hill. -
osu45804Anyone else going to be following Tough Enough?

You gotta go to the Kentucky Derby to watch me do shit like that....in one of my several luchador masks. -

I completely understand the match order.
You cannot start with a crappy Cole/Lawlor match, especially when Stone Cold is one of the [three] highlights of the PPV. I think they put the matches in the right order, there were some semi-exciting ones before they built it up for the exciting matches/entrances. They didn't go too long with some of the matches, which is really good. I do think they drug out the Cole/Lawlor ordeal, I will agree that the Snoop Dogg stuff was awful, and the Rock's Wrestlemania 27 introduction message was too long.
I continue to dislike Randy Orton, CM Punk, The Miz, John Cena, and the lack of "real" tag teams. Randy Orton, John Cena and Miz may be good with a mic, they are awful at acting inside the ring. They cannot get hit without putting their extra dramatic "act" into it. It'd be great if they learned from those that were good with a mic and in the ring. It would be awesome if the WWE put together good tag teams again, The Road Warriors, The Dudley Boyz, The Steiner Brothers, and numerous others can be thrown into the mix were all great tag teams. Now, they just throw random people into the ring together and call them a "tag team."
On a side note, a good friend of mine said that the WWE is dropping the "wrestling" from their name and just strictly going by the formal "WWE" name. Has anyone else heard this? Apparently this is yet another move to the PG-13(esque) wrestling. Taking a lot of the action out of it. Thinking about it, it does make sense. The only thing that was really used last night was a single chair. Yes, the Spanish table was crushed as was Cole's plastic box. But there was no usage of HHH's sledge, no tables (there's always tables!), no sex appeal (which I don't have that much of a problem with, it got over-sexed for a long time), and then you partner this with all the RAWs being very little wrestling and all mic-work. Lame.
So, Undertaker is now 19-0. How much will he be used until next Wreslemania? If Wrestlemania 28 is going to be his last one, who will it be against? My guess is with Kane. It brings his career full-circle doesn't it? I also think it'd be great to bring back Paul Bearer for it. I think that'd be a great way to end his legendary career. It's hard to argue that his character hasn't been one of the best characters developed in the history of the WWE/F. -

The death of the small companies hurt the development of young wrestlers. Rock, Austin, Michaels, Sting, Undertaker, Rick and Scott Steiner, Hall and Nash, Ric Flair, you name em, they all crafted their skills in places like Memphis World Championship Wrestling, The UWF, World Class Championship Wrestling (Texas), the AWA, etc. All of these guys later went on to national prominence in the WWF/WWE but before they became a Superstar they worked their way up the ranks for years honing their skills in the ring and out. This does not happen any more. The small promotions are nothing in comparison to the promotions I listed above. To take a phrase from SNL, todays's headliners are "Not Ready for Primetime".
