    It's simple.

Good parenting involves doing only things that help your child's development, not letting them have or do things that probably won't hurt them.

    Some get it, some don't.

    LOL. Okay.

Yeah, that's super funny. The problem is people just can't imagine that their parenting methods are frowned upon by others. Talk to me when you have kids. Or, better yet, don't.

Taking your child on a vacation to Disney doesn't help their development. Bad parenting.

    Give me a break.

Sure it does. Travel with loved ones to see and learn new things isn't good for a child's development? Wtf?

Exposure to non-age appropriate material is similar to proper nutrition. McDonalds and ho-ho's with pop for dinner isn't going to kill your child on the spot either, but it's not going to help him.

Theres not one child development specialist or child psychologist in the country that would agree with you. The problem here is me telling him about it and how I said it.

A third grader is roughly 8-9 years old.

OH THE HUMANITY. The kid will be scarred for life. Please, someone call social services.

I'd say you're probably at the bottom of the list of people on this site or probably anywhere that have any ground to stand on when criticizing the actions of others.
Remember who's son we are talking about... He has been shaving for 7 years, Driving for 3, Registered for the draft for 1, and dating a girl that could be your Mother!

How about TV for young kids, Justin? Good or bad? Maybe you can teach me a thing or two based on how your mom raised you.

Not sure how old you are but there was a short-lived candy bar called the Summit Bar that used that slogan long before Kit Kat. You should be ashamed you didn't know that! ;)

Holy shit SVF is the fucking worst. I bet instead of reading stories to your kids at night you tell them shitty mom jokes. Go Find Yourself.

I'm not trying to teach you anything. I personally give zero shits how you raise your kids. It's your pompous attitude that you're god's gift to parenting and if people don't do it your way they are wrong that I could do without.
  • justincredible
You let one of your kids smack the other in the face with a bat a few weeks back. I remember that. Sure sounds like bad parenting to me.

This is better than debating the subject matter because you won't lose.

    Then say that, then.

Don't fucking argue that letting eight yr olds watch PG-13 movies is good parenting, you blockhead.

I take a pompous attitude because dumb poor people messing up their kids' lives with bad parenting absolutely disgusts me. If you don't like it - don't read it.

Yes, watching a PG-13 movie has completely fucked his kid over. He'll never recover.

Don't like my response, don't read it.

It was bad parenting because I wasn't on the spot to stop it. Such is the life of raising a two year old boy. All I can do is be quicker on my feet next time. Again, though, when you have kids and have something similar happen, you'll realize you can't stop them from doing everything. Then you can go back and delete that post.

    (edit)

Though I will add that mine was not a choice, his was. If you can't distinguish the difference then I'm sorry about your situation.

    Nah, I'll leave it.

It's just funny you give him shit for letting his kid watch Ace Venture when you're not a perfect parent yourself. Hypocrisy, and such.

I'm a teacher and I didn't go to school today....or all week. My son did not go to school today. Right now he's in his room watching tv and eating Doritos.
