It's a keeper league too, so that's the main reason I took Luck.

That's fair. I just think he's got the right mixture. Jennings will always draw a team's "shutdown" corner, and for good reason. Naturally, Nelson still has Jermichael Finley and James Jones to compete with for catches, plus whoever they have coming out of the backfield. Jones doesn't have the MOST solid hands, and I sincerely doubt his catches-per-TD will stay where it is from last year (38-for-7). Finley has injury issues, and while being one of the more athletic TEs in the league, still won't be as fast as Nelson.

I think it's more of a "victim of circumstance" thing. I think he's in the right place to succeed. Put him on the Raiders, and he'd be forgotten.

I drafted a backup in case my starter, Manning, doesn't pan out quite right. Plus, if he does, but someone ELSE'S QB situation isn't so bright, then I have a handy trading chip.

O-Trap;1260504 wrote:I dig your receiving corp. In a PPR, Welker will continue to be a point machine. I was never that high on Maclin, but he's not an awful guy to have. Jordy Nelson will be Tits McGee this year, so that will bode VERY well for you. If healthy, Austin has a HUGE upside. Moss is a crap shoot.

Your RBs are a little shallow. Stewart still plays a nominally secondary role to DWill. Same with Tate behind Foster. Same with Williams behind Beanie.

Romo could have a great year or an implosion year. When his head is on straight, he's solid, but he can get into his own head too much.

Dustin Keller is a quiet treat in FFL. He's solid, and Sanchez liked him as a target early last year. Consequently, they did well on offense when they included him frequently.

Defense is old, but the Bears should be serviceable.

Kickers are a roll of the dice.
My RBs are shallow. Ray Rice was my keeper and I took my receivers early. I was ready to pick up Doug Martin but he was snatched away from me. It got to a point where if I drafted an RB, it was going to be a reach. I got Stewart, Tate, and Williams after the 6th I think. Stewart isn't worthwhile even if he's healthy because of Tolbert, Williams, and Cam. Not enough for him. Tate I'm hanging onto because you never know. I'm hoping to use my 4th WR as trade bait a little further into the season to prepare for the stretch run.

Moss I've picked up late in all my leagues for the possibility of him being the red zone threat for Alex Smith. If Vick stays healthy, Maclin will be gold IMO.

The Bears ST helps the D for sure. Nice having an opportunity for TDs all the time.

I agree with you. I don't think Jordy gets his, what, 11 TDs? But I think he catches more balls this year. I think he's going to be PPR gold. Teams can't blanket too many people against the Packers.

I think Tolbert will be the one who gets the shortest end of the stick. My gut says he is mostly a blocking back this year. He certainly has the size and stature for it (low is good for leverage). DWill gets chance after chance when he's healthy, BUT he's getting older, and there's always the chance that he gets hurt. Cam DOES hurt the redzone running bigtime.

12 Team, no PPR, Regular Scoring (The OC Money League). I think I ended up ok, but it would be nice if Forte goes down.

    QB - Brees
    WR - AJ Green
    WR - Greg Jennings
    RB - Reggie Bush
    RB - Shonn Greene
    TE - Fred Davis
    W/R/T - DeMaryius Thomas
    DEF - Jets

    Quizz Rodgers
    LeShoure
    Collie
    Michael Floyd

RB are very thin - gotta hope Reggie can improve on his performance from last year. Nice receivers and a top 3 QB though.

Exactly. Also hoping for a Forte something...anything that leads to Michael Bush getting 20 touches a game for the Bears.

14 teams, 10th pick, no Browns fans, standard scoring:

    QB: Stafford, Brandon Weeden
RB: Trent Richardson, Turner, Ridley, M. Bush
WR: Cruz, Austin, Greg Little, Mario Manningham, Josh Gordon
    TE: Hernandez, Ben Watson
    D/ST: Ravens, Browns
    K: Phil Dawson

And I'll need to trade the one guy that got Cribbs.
  • gorocks99
12-team league, no PPR, 6pt passing TDs otherwise regular scoring:

    QB: Aaron Rodgers
    RB: MJD
    RB: Fred Jackson
    WR: Antonio Brown
    WR: Brandon Lloyd
TE: Jason Witten (fuck yo spleen)
    Flex: Kevin Smith
    K: Dan Bailey
    D: Seattle

    Bench:
    Rashad Jennings
    Donald Brown
    David Wilson
    Mike Williams (TB)
    Michael Crabtree
    Joe Flacco

I'm very (read: ridiculously) thin at WR but I like my backs. If MJD goes down I have the handcuff in Jennings, and since Smith will be effective but not healthy, Wilson or Brown can fill in for him. Witten, I dunno, just hoping he's out a max of week 1 and then he's back to himself. If not I'll have to trade or waiver a TE.

    That's ... a lot of Browns. A. Lot.

It's too bad they all have the same bye week. So I'll lose once.

Yeah, a bye week is why someone with a ton of Browns will lose ...

    ... you got jokes ...

Here are my 3 fantasy teams for 2012:

    -----
    10-teams:

    QB: Michael Vick, Josh Freeman
WR: Jordy Nelson, Dwayne Bowe, Eric Decker, Malcom Floyd
RB: Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles, Frank Gore, Shonn Greene, Rashard Mendenhall
    TE: Antonio Gates
    K: Rob Bironas
    DEF: Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills
    IDP: Patrick Willis, D'Qwell Jackson
    -----
    10-teams:

    QB: Eli Manning
WR: Greg Jennings, Hakeem Nicks, Pierre Garcon, Titus Young
RB: Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, Reggie Bush, Willis McGahee, DeAngelo Williams, Rashard Mendenhall
    TE: Tony Gonzalez
    K: Matt Prater
DEF: New York Jets, Detroit Lions
    IDP: Sean Lee, Sean Weatherspoon
    -----
    8-teams:

    QB: Michael Vick, Matt Shaub
WR: Roddy White, Dez Bryant, Dwayne Bowe, Robert Meachem, Kenny Britt
RB: Ray Rice, Marshawn Lynch, Steven Jackson, Reggie Bush, DeAngelo Williams
    TE: Jermichael Finley
    K: Garrett Hartley
    DEF: Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles
    -----

What are your thoughts? I like all 3 teams, but I like Team #1 the best, especially with my running back depth. But I should have gotten a better back-up QB since I got Vick. Team #3 I learned and got a little better back-up QB (Shaub). I love running backs, as it's been a successful strategy of mine for years.

I wouldn't have that many Packers on my fantasy team, and their offense is actually good.

Or even Indy in their hey day (Manning, Wayne, Harrison, Clark, etc) I wouldn't have that many from a good offense, let alone the Browns.
  • Rotinaj
    12 team PPR
    QB- Stafford, Luck
RB-Chris Johnson, Law Firm, Gerhart, Ridley
WR-Nicks, Smith(car), Dez Bryant, Crabtree, Holmes
    TE- Celek, Miller

I like my starters and my backups have definite potention for good years. Don't usually draft 2 tight ends but I have no idea how well either will do. I'll probably drop 1 after week 3 or so.
  • GOONx19
Twas a joke people. I'm not an idiot. Although I did win one year with Manning, Edgerrin (sp?) James, and Marvin Harrison on the same team.
