12 teams, standard scoring, and yes, just one RB. Your always going to have a hole in your team, and since we only have to start one RB, I figure it's ok to have that hole be at RB. Gore is serviceable if he stays healthy, and I think Jacobs will be able to take some of the load off Gore. Gore was the best available RB when I had my 2nd and 3rd picks(back to back on the snake), and I decided to grab 2 top 10 WR's instead. Was able to get Gore on my next pick.gorocks99;1253008 wrote:How many teams? Standard scoring? Also, one starting RB? Weird.
Anyhow, that's clearly your biggest hole. Rodgers will be Rodgers, your WRs are good, TE is serviceable but you have zero RB unless Gore actually performs. I have my doubts that he will. -

I like the keeper aspect and future draft picks are traded pretty frequently, which makes it fun even in the offseason.
We actually had a vote at our draft to move from 4 to 3 keepers, and moving to 3 won the vote 7-5, so we are only keeping 3 going forward.
As I mentioned, it's basically the same people for almost a decade now, with a couple new people recently after a couple dropped out a few years back.
I've kept Rice since I drafted him in the 11th round or so several years ago, and if I remember correctly McCoy was a waiver pickup a few years ago when Westbrook went down, and I've kept him since...Jimmy Graham was just a good mid-late round draft pick last year.
It will be unfair at the RB position for awhile in my league since I have 2 of the top RB's and Rice and McCoy are 25 and 24 years old... -
thePITmanHad 2nd pick in 10-team league:
QB: Michael Vick, Josh Freeman
RB: Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles, Frank Gore, Shonn Greene, Rashard Mendenhall
WR: Jordy Nelson, Dwayne Bowe, Eric Decker, Malcom Floyd
TE: Antonio Gates, Brent Celek
K: Rob Bironas
DEF: Chicago Bears
D: Patrick Willis, D'Qwell Jackson
I'm very happy with my team!
Concerns:
Should have gotten a better/earlier backup QB if/when Vick gets hurt.
Wide receiver depth... but I like starting 3 RB instead of 3 WRs, so my great RB depth should help. (especially when Mendenhall is healthy, got him in 12th round).
I'm going to drop someone and get a 2nd DEF 'cuz I like being able to choose based on weekly matchups.
What are your thoughts? -

jmog10 team, really really odd scoring, but as close as can be explained in short.
QBs normal except 1 pt for 5 yards rushing instead of 10 (boosts guys like Vick, Newton, RGIII, Freeman, etc)
RBs normal except 1 pt for about 7 yards receiving instead of 10.
WRs 0.5 PPR
TEs 1 pt for every 5 yards receiving and 12 pt TDs.
Bonus pts for long TDs.
Starters
QB-M. Vick
RB-R. Rice
RB-M. Lynch
WR-AJ Green
WR-B. Marshall
TE-F. Davis

K-R. Bullock
D-San Diego
Yes, we do have to draft 2 QBs, 2 Ks, and 2Ds, depth at RB/WR/TE is our discretion.
Lastly, you can imagine that TEs are huge in our league, we can start 2 TEs maximum, and 2 RBs maximum, other than that our 5 non QB position players are complete flex (0-2 RBs, 0-5 WRs, 0-2 TEs, just a total of 5).
I like my depth at RB/WR/TE which is big in our league.
I don't like Freeman as my backup when (not if) Vick gets hurt. -
RotinajJmog, as long as Vick says healthy I don't see how you can lose this league. Crazy you were able to get 3 top 15 WR and RB. Who were your first 5 picks round by round?

Don't you guys do any leagues with a lot of keepers? Im in one where we keep 7 and one with 9, it leads to a ton of trades especially with future draft picks.se-alum;1253043 wrote:Haha...didn't notice he had quoted himself...LOL! BTW, a 4 player keeper league is insane! -

We have the option to keep 2 players from the previous season as long as they were drafted in the 6th round or later. I kept AJ Green for a 14th rounder and M. Lynch for a 12th rounder.Rotinaj;1254920 wrote:Jmog, as long as Vick says healthy I don't see how you can lose this league. Crazy you were able to get 3 top 15 WR and RB. I took Rice in the 1st (he slipped to me at 6th overall since our league is huge on TEs, 3 TEs went in the first round...every year).
I took Vick with the 5th pick in the 2nd.
I took B. Marshall with the 6th pick in the 3rd.
I took F. Davis with the 5th pick in the 4th.
I took S. Smith with the 6th pick in the 5th.
I took R. Matthews with the 5th pick in the 6th (this was a steel since now I can keep him for next season, everyone was scared of his collar bone).
Our first 5 overall were (Cam Newton was the only one kept that would have gone in the 1st 5)
A. Foster, J. Graham, R. Gronkowski, Calvin Johnson, L McCoy, then me with Rice.
Luckily our league does not go deep at QB (only 20) so if Vick gets hurt and Freeman looks like the Freeman of last year instead of the Freeman of 2010, I have options like Locker, Ponder, Fitzpatrick, etc in FA that I could pick up.
I took Freeman instead of those guys with a very late pick because if he goes like 2010 I want to keep him for next season. -

BigAppleBuckeyeI am in a keeper league (we keep 16 players each, with 16 total teams), so our draft's first round is usually 100% rookies. I had the #5 pick, top 5 went: Luck, Richardson, RG3, Martin ... so I went with Justin Blackmon (which filled a huge hole at receiver).

Yea. Hoping LeShoure turns into a gem and I can get rid of Turner for a #1 or #2 WR... maybe. Though Torrey Smith I think will be pretty good this yearbases_loaded;1255506 wrote:Your WR blow, but maybe you can turn a RB into one. -
