I just realized I have 4 drafts on sunday. #busy.

I have a live draft tomorrow and it looks like I will have to decide between Gore and Steven Jackson at number 6...any opinions? I love Jackson, but I am worried about his td total...only had 4 last year.
  • Iliketurtles
Wes I'd def take Gore no question about it. Now if whoever picks 5th takes Gore then I'd take Andre Johnson over Turner or Jackson.

10 team league, 15 rounds (I had the 4th pick and took Rogers):

    QB - Aaron Rodgers
    RB - Rashard Mendenhall
    RB - LeSean McCoy
    WR - Calvin Johnson
    WR - Anquan Boldin
    WR/RB FLEX - C.J. Spiller
    TE - Antonio Gates
    D/ST - Ravens
    K - Phil Dawson

    Bench:

    Donovan McNabb (QB)
    Daren Sproles (RB)
    Arian Foster (RB)
    Greg Olsen (TE)
    Jeremy Maclin (WR)
    T.J. Whose your mama (WR)

Should I start Maclin or Spiller as my flex for the 1st week? Spiller is going to get the start with Lynch and Jackson injuries.
  • Laley23
Spiller. Maclin is a wildcard this early in the season. He isnt the #1, so until he is established I wouldnt count on him. #2 WRs are inconsistent unless they are established and in an offense that will get them point week in week out (Indy, Arizona last couple years, etc).

just did a 10 team Auction, here's my team (this is my first auction ever):

    QB: Eli Manning, Carson Palmer
RB: Frank Gore, Adrian Peterson, Lesean McCoy, Brandon Jacobs, Steve Slaton, Michael Bush
WR: Brandon Marshall, Michael Crabtree, Austin Collie, Bernard Berrian, Laurent Robinson
    TE: Jason Witten
    K: Ryan Longwell
    DEF: Ravens

It's a standard (non PPR) league. I was shocked at the WR's prices. Andre Johnson (58) went for the same price as AP (58) and Frank Gore (53) and Eli Manning (5) combined.

Did I approach this right? I'm not as deep as I'd like to be, but these RB's were going for $1 a piece (Slaton and Bush) and I couldn't pass them up.

also, i had $0 left at the end, is that good? one guy had like 45 bucks left.

Never done an auction league. But you have 2 of the top 5 RBs. Cant be too bad lol.

j crazy thats a nice team. Im shocked you got AP that cheap normally he goes for $10+ more. Johnson stock has really been rising this summer and I see him going for more and more every auction draft so 58 doesnt surprise me too much. And yes you want to have 0 dollars left or close to it, having $45 is way to much left over I want to see what his team looks like.

his team is very deep. he's got 12 guys that I would consider solid #2's his RB are Benson, Moreno, and Harrison. His WR's are very deep Wayne (which he way over paid for IMO ($43)), Boldin, Breaston, and MSW (he may have k. Walter too, i forget).

Ah I see he probably waited and just got those guys pretty cheap. And 43 is a lot for Wayne but he had the money to spend so its not too bad. j crazy when you put a guy up for bid did you put up someone you wanted? I see a lot of people doing that when they are new to auctions my advice is never put up a guy you want unless its later in the draft.

the first person I nominated was nate kaeding, because I wanted him, but didn't want to spend more than $1 for him, he sold for $6. so then I just kept going until I got the kicker I wanted the most for $1. Did the same with Defenses (I nominated the Jets for $1 and they sold for $10). IMO i got the guys I wanted at those positions, but I also made others waste money.
