    I noticed that Obama's proposed legislation would still require Americans to have health insurance. I can't wait for all those lawsuits from the states if that passes.

    A good percentage of liberals don't even like what's being proposed (for various reasons), so I don't see how this is a winning strategy for Obama.

    Even if it passes, the only one who gets to claim any kind of victory is HIM. Of course, it's all about the ego where this guy is concerned, so that shouldn't be surprising.

    I have reached the point now that anytime I see someone use the terms "socialist, Marxist, or Maoist", I pretty much disregard everything else that is said, because all I'm going to get is Republican talking points. If I want to listen to that, I'll tune into Limbaugh or Hannity.

    as for crew...I don't agree with what you said because you're statement claimed that doing nothing was the best thing that could happen right now...that makes the assumption that there isn't an option out there that would result in some kind of net benefit to the American people, which is basically bs.
    There is an option that would be better for the American people, an entirely different Congress; which is why I am voting against every incumbant I possibly can. I never said it is the best thing possible, I said it is the best thing possible right now, meaning with what we have making decisions. But we can agree to disagree.

    I agree with this. It is a very unpopular bill, yet Mr. Obama continues to try to ram it through.

    ^^Nice try- minimum drivers insurance is to pay for someone else's vehicle if you get in an accident.

    Obama's plan would be the automotive equivalent of requiring someone to carry full coverage on his/her vehicle.

    Budget reconciliation measures have been used for BUDGET-related bills, like tax cuts, etc. They have never been used for back-room, unpopular bills that a majority of Americans are opposed to.
