North Korea

We lived with China doing that exact thing...majorspark;1866994 wrote:Is it in our national security interest too not allow a third less stable nation to primarily target their nuclear arsenal on our major cities? Why should we not very aggressively combat this?
We have to face the fact that North Korea and the U.S. is now in a deterrence relationship. They are not giving up their nukes. They are not giving up their missiles and they are not going away. Trying to say they have to denuclearize is a non-starter and futile.
It sucks and the result is a failure of U.S. policy from Rs and Ds over the last 30 years. -
SpockTHere is very few options on the table now with NK:
1. We go in and actually sit at a table with Kim and use diplomacy.
2. We go in and take him out.
3. We ignore him and let the regional powers take him on. -

Only option 1 is feasible. Option 2 will result in too many dead/ you have to know damn sure what comes next/ after Kim. As long as we have troops in South Korea, option 3 makes no sense.Spock;1867511 wrote:THere is very few options on the table now with NK:

1 would be good but no president isn't doing that without conditions and that asshole isn't making concessions. He is a utter meglamaniac.ptown_trojans_1;1867516 wrote:Only option 1 is feasible. If one changes the words to number 3 a little, to "let the powers with more direct influence act in their interest, which also benefits us", a combination of #1 and #3 is the way to go.ptown_trojans_1;1867516 wrote:Only option 1 is feasible. Really? I saw an article written with a headline like who is crazier Kim or Trump. How ignorant or outright deceptive of an article. Trump is a blow hard no doubt but he is not a deranged murderous maniac. Kim had his defense chief executed for dozing off disrespecting him. Kim routinely executes political officials, military personnel, and his own citizens. High level officials usually get executed in front of other high level officials with an anti aircraft gun. If a NK citizen does not go out and fist pump Kim at a rally its off the labor camp or execution.Heretic;1867676 wrote:Those two would think they're looking in a mirror. -

If it makes you feel all better, their megalomaniac is crazier than ours, with far worse accomplishments than merely being an ignorant blowhard. Look at how many times he has called out QO for comparing Obama to Marxists or some other extreme term. He is hardly a "snowflake" for doing so. "Snowflake" in the political sense would be one that is so fragile they seek to hide from any form of political debate. The word "snowflake" is currently being politically redefined as I have no logical argument and you are fragile for challenging me.superman;1867756 wrote:Says stupid shit.

I wasn't calling him a snowflake. I was saying that "I triggered a snowflake." Is his buckshot response to being called out on something stupid he said.majorspark;1867838 wrote:Look at how many times he has called out QO for comparing Obama to Marxists or some other extreme term. Are the rational people the ones who try to equate Trump to the NK madman who ruthlessly murders anyone who does not look at him properly and is threatening peaceful nations with nuclear war?Commander of Awesome;1867996 wrote:North Korea thread turns into who is crazier argument between Trump supporters and rational people. I am starting to believe that a great many on the left have absolutely completely lost their minds and any semblance of rational thought; hysteria as it were. -
