Newt absolutely nails it ...............................hopefully he will be a big part of the Trump administration. -
CenterBHSFanDoes that muddy the waters of freedom of religion? I'm not fan of Sharia Law by any means, but still I wonder about that.

How do you "test" for Muslims who support sharia law? Do we really want to make it a felony for people to visit Web sites that discuss sharia law? Are we just throwing out the first amendment? This is the kind of government overreach that sounds like a great idea to some when it is applied to somebody else but it opens the door for it to be applied to anyone who disagrees with the government.QuakerOats;1803341 wrote:http://video.foxnews.com/v/5036444136001/newt-gingrich-deport-every-muslim-who-believes-in-sharia/?#sp=show-clips

By those standards I would think everyone who is a member of this site should be under investigation. -
Devils AdvocateThe test is simple. You just have to declare Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. If you refuse, you are deported.

I get what Newt is saying... he just didn't say it very well.
When you have a group of people who espouse a way of thinking/governing that goes against the principles of the USA, the patriotic reaction is to defend the USA.
Sharia law has many tenants that contradict what is constitutionally held in the USA. It makes sense that there are people who would not want Sharia to be absorbed into the fiber of the USA. -
FatHobbit
The simple solution IMHO is to keep religion out of government. (And schools)Apple;1803350 wrote:It makes sense that there are people who would not want Sharia to be absorbed into the fiber of the USA. -

Mostly. We'll still keep the part that says a Christian doesn't have to bake a cake for a wedding of two dudes.FatHobbit;1803347 wrote:Are we just throwing out the first amendment? -
SportsAndLadyThought Melania Trump's speech last night was really good..
..aaaaaaand it was plagiarized.
Trump is gonna get destroyed by Hillary. Fuck the RNC for giving us this bullshit. -

I'll go the other way. I thought all the speeches were terrible.SportsAndLady;1803583 wrote:Thought Melania Trump's speech last night was really good..

Such a joke that this guy gets any votes at all. -

Agreed. I will never vote for Hillary, but I'm leaning towards the never Trump camp now. Can't believe they didn't figure out a way to unbind the delegates to at least let it be Trump vs. one other person (Rubio/ Cruz/ hell even Kasich). I can't vote for Trump because I think a 4 year presidency by him will set back the whole party a few more elections. All I can hope now is that when Hillary is terrible, the GOP will learn from this and put up someone that the right can unify behind. The worst part is that there is at least 1 guaranteed Supreme Court position now, and possibly more.SportsAndLady;1803583 wrote:Trump is gonna get destroyed by Hillary. The crazy thing is, the speech that she stole from was also plagarized but that really won't get any media play.SportsAndLady;1803583 wrote:Thought Melania Trump's speech last night was really good..

What would we do about that now? I know you're right, and I would mention it as a footnote as well, but Michelle having plagarized something back then doesn't seem to offer anything useful to a discussion today.superman;1803588 wrote:The crazy thing is, the speech that she stole from was also plagarized but that really won't get any media play.
If Barry was stumping, sure, but I'm betting he's pretty checked out at this point. His speaking engagements will consist mostly of gun issues going forward, I'd wager. Seems like the topic du jour until he leaves office. -
HitsRusSMH. This just shows how amateurish this all is. Didn't anybody do any research? The first thing I'm gonna do if I'm in this position is too look at previous examples of similar speeches.....
I'm still not convinced that Trump isn't a plant. His entrance last night belonged in a Hunger Games movie. -

Shouldn't you be upset with the registered Republicans who voted for Trump over the field?SportsAndLady;1803583 wrote:Thought Melania Trump's speech last night was really good..

I'm not gonna get upset with the unintelligent southern hill jacks (see:CCrunner) who voted for Trump. I'm pissed that the RNC even had him in there to begin with.Commander of Awesome;1803610 wrote:Shouldn't you be upset with the registered Republicans who voted for Trump over the field? -

I looked into this, and found that they couldn't prevent him from running. They could have stopped him from getting the nomination, but vast majority of republican voters want him. CC Runner is still a hilljack tho lolololololSportsAndLady;1803611 wrote:I'm not gonna get upset with the unintelligent southern hill jacks (see:CCrunner) who voted for Trump. That isn't entirely accurate. "The Field" had more votes than Trump did. I think I saw it was about 60% to 40%. The problem was the dipshits staying in the race and letting him rack up states. If they picked either of Cruz or Rubio to run against him at the convention or in another primary, he would lose.Commander of Awesome;1803614 wrote:but vast majority of republican voters want him -

Yeah, this year was weird in that guys who had no chance of getting the nomination just were hanging around on and on and on and on, so the race didn't get whittled down nearly as quick as they usually do.iclfan2;1803615 wrote:That isn't entirely accurate. This is 100% correct. If either Cruz or Rubio drop out earlier(probably Rubio) than Cruz is the nominee.iclfan2;1803615 wrote:That isn't entirely accurate. "The Field" had more votes than Trump did. Not sure Cruz is a ton better than Trump but he is better and would probably beat HC. -
Spocka few things:
1. you guys have a short memory? Trump crushed all 16 other people running. CRUSHED them.
2. Last night the speeches were very on point. You guys cant be watching the left wing media to get your point of view on this. THey are so far into HC and the dems they just sit on TV and lie about how bad it is. -

like_thatThe GOP definitely fucked up. They didn't learn their lesson from 2012 when they had a hollywood squares debate format. Why didn't the GOP leadership step up and tell 90% of the candidates to fuck off before or right after the Iowa caucuses? There was seriously no reason for any of these candidates to stay in as long as they did.
Meanwhile the democratic primary pretty much did everything it could to allow Hillary to become our COTUS. The race started with 5 candidates and immediately dwindled down to 3 after the first debate and 2 after the first few primaries. Jim Webb is what the democrats used to be, but the regressive liberals (these are the people who claim they are so progressive) took the democratic party so far to the left that Jim Webb became a meme. I don't even remember the other guys name, but he was a complete needle dick and it was very obvious he wouldn't even get a xmas tour of the white house let alone get in the WH by becoming our next commander in chief. Mayor Carcetti was too much of a ***** to call out Hillary in hopes of being her VP candidate. Speaking of *****, Bernie 100% had no balls against Hillary. He would call her out, and then apologize the next day. He decided to be a little aggressive and call Hillary out toward the end of the primary when it was far too late. He then became a typical partisan sell out by endorsing Hillary, after claiming he started a revolution LOL.
There are many things I can say about the democrats, but I will never say they don't know how to rile up people to vote and win general elections. The GOP obviously has plenty of problems, but the real problem in this country is how polarizing both sides are. If you actually think the idea of having one party take over is a good in the long term then you will get what you ask for.
tl;dr: Fuck the GOP, fuck the dems, fuck regressive liberals, and vote for the libertarian party to help legitimize a third party. -
gutSo much for all the rumors of revolt at the Convention.
Trump will be the best liberal POTUS we've had in decades -

Trump probably didn't GAF. He's looked like an ass for months and just keeps getting more popular. There's no accountability.HitsRus;1803602 wrote:SMH. This just shows how amateurish this all is.
