  I always thought it was a combination of bad policies by the D's plus the city never diversified beyond one industry: auto.
  
  Pittsburgh started to head in the same direction, but moved away from steel and towards a more modern economic platform. Detroit stayed with all the eggs in one basket.
  Once that industry started to falter in the mid 2000s, the city's fate was sealed.

  Well, the Joint Chief is technically apart of the Executive Branch. But, he was asked to put his ideas down, and he did.
  And, no this is the Obama White House, not sure what the hell you are talking about.
  No one is seriously considering troops into Syria.
  Nor, are they rushing towards war.
  
  You are conficting two stories:
  1. Weapons to the rebels, which has been delayed as the Congress wants to know more.
  2. The Joint Chief was asked to provide a full range of options in addition to providing weapons to the rebels.
  
  And the White House has played down the chemical weapons usage based on so many conflicting stories on attribution.
  
  And, please, do not rely on the media for a story, go straight to the source. Primary sources are your friend.

  Have we seen this scenario before? My initial point earlier today is that the Administration's ideas are not being publicly challenged by the Obama voters/supporters. The Joint Chief was indeed reporting them to the House, but they aren't HIS ideas.
  
  My point about Obama's White House is exactly how he got elected...by running against Bush in both 2008 AND 2012. It's all the fault of others and nothing ever sticks to him, even after 1640 days in office. Sorry you missed it.

  Just because Syria has chemical weapons and may have used them does that automatically make it just like Iraq.
  And are we seriously considering those options, aside from sending the weapons to the rebels, I'd say no to the other options.
  If we are going to compare Syria to anything, right now it s more like what we did sending arms to the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan-Pakistan in 80-82.

  Obama to go ahead and arm Syrian rebels, yeah I can't see how this could possible backfire on us. Up to 1bn per month on Obama's war. Sure glad he received that Nobel Peace Prize. I hope someone asks him if they are going to pass a background check first.

  Obama's next book should be "The dreams of Conservatives" and focus on a chapter how they've invented missing white conservative voters and tails of fraud to help them cope with the fact that most of the population of this country is moderately liberal.

  My, my; so now we know the IRS targeting of conservatives went all the way to the IRS Chief Counsel in Washington (at a minimum), an obama appointee; one of his only two IRS appointments.
  
  This article is a good read on how the dots are beginning to connect. There should be a lot of people going to jail, except the lame-stream media continues to avoid these nearly unbelievable crimes to protect their political hack in the WH.

  I'm pretty disillusioned at Obama's continued war mongering-lite but if we had a hawkish Republican like Romney or McCain in office we'd have been there for months now. Just imagine Jennifer Rubin and Bill Kristol beating the drums for Romney to go in instead of suffering the cognitive dissonance of being sympathetic towards Obama's actions and having to worry about the Rand Paul-wing gaining traction in their party. It could be worse. Obama is to the right of some of these Tea Party types on this issue and it is very frustrating.

  What's better, the current policy? 93K dead in the worst humanitarian conflict since Rwanda.
  Also, the rebels are splitting into hard line camps, meaning anti-Western clans are taking more and more control. That means whatever takes shape after Asad is morel ikly to be anti-Aemrican and anti-Israel as a result.
  The rest of the region is already sending arms, but hell the rebels want more U.S. arms.
  
  Now, sure it easy to say, not our problem, been there done that. But, it is not so simple.
  Where e like it or not, the U.S. still is involved in the region and still has influence.
  Ignoring it ans just saying we should totally stay out of it ignores reality and the geopolitical situation in the region.
  
  Does that mean $1B in air strikes and troops. No.
  It means a controlled, aide to the rebels, ones we know, and to ensure the civil war does not fall into chaos any more and does not spill over even further into Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, and Jordan.
