    As projected, NK attempts their next missile test on April 15th, and it "blew up" almost immediately. A colossal failure. This will be an embarrassment on what's typically an important national day for them.

    So just about everyWestern intelligence service was collaborating with the Obama administration intrying to elect Hillary Clinton. Yet, amazingly enough, they failed.
    The blindinglyobvious point that the Guardian tries to obscure is that the combined assets ofall of these agencies failed to find any evidence of collaboration between theTrump campaign and Russia. We know this,because the Democrats have pulled out all the stops. Both before the election,and especially after the election, they have leaked furiously to try todiscredit President Trump. If there were any evidence of collusion betweenTrump (or even obscure, minor “advisers” like Carter Page) and Russia, there would havebeen nothing else in the Washington Post or the New York Times for the pastfive months. But they have nothing.
    What was reallygoing on seems clear. Everyone involved in this story thought that HillaryClinton was sure to win the election. Why? Because they read the WashingtonPost and the New York Times. Plus Real Clear Politics and 538. The suggestionthat the Russian government tried to swing the election to Donald Trump isridiculous. The Russians thought that Hillary was the certain winner, and if–abig if–they carried out a primitive phishing expedition into DebbieWasserman-Schultz’s email account, and subsequently sent the DNC emails toWikileaks, it was to cause trouble for Clinton after she becamepresident.
    Likewise, Britishintelligence and the other agencies mentioned by the Guardian thought there wasno doubt but that Hillary would win. How could they curry favor with the newadministration, expected to be Obama’s third term? By feeding negativeinformation about the opponent who was sure to lose, even though there was noreal significance to the intelligence provided.
    That’s whathappened. The fact that liberals still try to push the “Russia” story, even whenit is obvious that they are out of ammo, is pathetic.

    This is the abuse of power story that the media should be headlining every day. The spying and unmasking by the obama admin, right up until Jan 20th as we could discern from testimony yesterday, is perhaps the largest illegality committed by a president and his administration in history. Stunning.

    This is part of the story not getting nearly enough attention.

    The Trump thing needs to see its way to conclusion regardless of the merits of the investigation - criminal vs. impeachment are two different things. The second is, regardless of the outcome, the merits/justification need to be closely examined for an abuse of power.

    Probably too much to ask for that people come away from all this with a healthy disgust and distrust of the establishment and mainstream media. But most likely people will continue to be partisan lemmings.

    Iran already has manufactured more centrifuge parts than needed for the amount of nuclear work permitted under the agreement.

    Iran also is working to construct IR-6 centrifuges, which also point to an increased focus on the production of enriched nuclear materials.

    That was from the recent ISIS (the good one) report. I know and have worked with those guys in the past. They know their shit and bring up fair and very reasonable concerns. They were not big fans of the deal for the exact reason they outlined in the paper. However, the thing we can do now, that would could not really before, is have a framework where the IAEA can go through and verify and work through the process on ensuring Iran does not go violate the agreement or the additional protocol. The authors of the report also recommend a stricter interpretation of the limits on the Iranian technology and not scrapping the deal. (I would favor that as well.).

    Another note, while the deal is only 10 years, the additional protocol which Iran signed on to with the IAEA that allows for caps and verification on enrichment goes well beyond the 10 years.

    I'll take anything form the "Washington Free Beacon" with a grain of salt. I can't say I'm an expert on the Iranian Nuclear agreement specifics. I will say that away from partisan sources, it seems to be agreed that it has caused the Iranians to reduce the processes and materials that could be made into weapons. As much as many people on here seem to hate Obama, this deal does a hell of a lot more to help the security issues with Iran than anything else that's been done in the last 40 years. The last time a republican president went dancing off into the middle east yelling about WMDs - well we all know how that turned out. I'll wait and see how this deal shows itself over time. But objective opinions of it seem more positive than negative.

    It has been widely reported, and should have support from most people. I read one article where one of the settlements went to La Raza, which is basically a hate group. People who have nothing to do with the court case should not be getting settlement money.

    Read the report and the conclusion for more detail, but pretty much, they call for the U.S. to hold Iran accountable. Written into the agreement is a mechanism for disagreements to be aired between Iran, the IAEA and the EU, US. and other parties. The U.S. can say Iran is violating or not abiding by the spirit of the agreement in this setting, and ensure that the IAEA looks to verify that fact. It is a common practice in arms control agreements. We do the same in the INF and START treaties. It is more a technical and legal way to make sure Iran is not violating the agreement.
