2012 Democrat Party National Convention

LMFAO. Are you serious? John Marshall absolutely was a founding father. I'm going to say it again...he absolutely was a founding father...and so were a lot of Federalists like George Washington, John Adams and Alexander Hamilton. And, he was very popular in his day and age and even won a congressional race in a democratic-republican district with the support of Patrick Henry no less. He was offered the Attorney General job in George Washington's administration but instead chose to go with Minister to France. He then became the Secretary of State in the John Adams administration.HitsRus;1261700 wrote:Marshall was not all that popular in his day either....the first true elitist who greatly expanded Supreme Court powers in the early republic. He was not actually a 'founding father' at least not without a few degrees of seperation. Not a signer of the Declaration of Independence, nor an original framer of the Constitution, he was in fact, a political appointee of Governeur Morris...a man who felt that the people needed to be saved from themselves.
Certainly an approprite pick of a modern day Democrat.
And, you claim he wasn't a "framer" of the constitution but he was indeed a delegate at the Virginia Convention responsible for ratifying the Constitution where he led the fight for ratification side-by-side with James Madison.
Might as well just pretend the Federalist Party never existed lol. -

OFA has internal polling that has Romney down 9 in Ohio...some there are quite a few whon would voteQuakerOats;1261815 wrote:Dems Drop 'God' From Party Platform...

Throw all that stuff on top of the horrific economic performance and it is rather unfathomable how anyone in America could vote for this regime. -

Reasonable people that believe that an ivisible man in the sky should have no part in the Federal Governmet. -

Face it....if Big Willie loses Ohio(which he is likely to),he can't win -

Not at all worried about Ohio; in fact I have heard from insiders (who KNOW) that Mr. Romney looks good in Ohio and as a result the dems are in panic mode.
Beyond that, Romney can easily win without Ohio given the 12 states currently in tossup mode. You can have Ohio while we take FL, NC, VA, MO, IA, WI, and CO etc. -

If God were an invisible man in the sky you might have a point. Maybe you should just stick to the economic issues (of which obama has made a trainwreck of).Devils Advocate;1261832 wrote:Let me help you :

gutAny poll that has either candidate ahead by 9 is garbage. Obama only got 51.2% of Ohio in 2008.
I'm finding many of these poll results to be dubious. The liberal media is doing everything they can to keep hope alive. If that means just highlighting a few polls that make him look good, or perhaps rigging a few to produce that result....right out of the playbook. -

Who are these people who know? I get my information from a state diretor for OFA Ohio....who are your sources?QuakerOats;1261841 wrote:Not at all worried about Ohio; in fact I have heard from insiders (who KNOW) that Mr. Romney looks good in Ohio and as a result the dems are in panic mode.

YOu honestly think Romney is going to win all of those states? You cannot be serious can you?
12 tossups? Last I checked there are only 9 -

Removing God from the platform is the natural progression - people will be dependent on govt, people draw their hope from govt and, eventually, people will pray to govt. Imagine going to church and some rich guy two states away fills your collection basket. Mmmm, apple pie and uncle sugar.QuakerOats;1261843 wrote:If God were an invisible man in the sky you might have a point. Hardly a story of stubble for the Obamas...but we already knew that. I saw a lot of people post about them living the American Dream...its sad that the American dream is, "with enough handouts, well be rich" -

The desperation is so thick you can cut it with a knife. What a sick, pathetic lot the Left has become. -

Am I the only one that finds the Hitler comparisons ironic as they drop support for Israel from the platform?QuakerOats;1261885 wrote:http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/sc-dem-chair-compares-gop-gov-hitlers-mistress_651728.html

C'mon guy...you KNOW that Romney isn't down 9. Wishful thinking isn't going to keep President Obama in office.Ty Webb;1261818 wrote:OFA has internal polling that has Romney down 9 in Ohio...some there are quite a few whon would vote -

Exactly. The biggest lead Obama has shown in Ohio is 6 points in the CBS/NYT poll. And as usual, they oversampled democrats by 8%.BoatShoes;1261907 wrote:C'mon guy...you KNOW that Romney isn't down 9. Wishful thinking isn't going to keep President Obama in office. -
gutThe other million dollar question with these polls is turnout. People may not like or want to vote for Romney, but are they really that motivated to go pull the lever for Obama again? He could easily lose 4-5% from last election when voter enthusiasm was almost unprecedented. If anything we will see the opposite with the anyone but voters mobilizing after staying home in 2008.

QuakerOatsWhat is funny is that Bill Clinton will NOT share his speech with the obama team prior to giving the speech. The obama team is in an uproar over it, but they are helpless since they need him far more than he needs them. Talk about desperate, they need Bill Clinton to talk about his economy and they need a dead Ted Kennedy to trash Mitt Romney.
The boat is listing badly. -

As opposed to how the other party apparently needed an 86-year-old actor to stumble through a speech?QuakerOats;1262011 wrote:What is funny is that Bill Clinton will NOT share his speech with the obama team prior to giving the speech. There was no stumbling when he said "if you don't get the job done you have to let him go". Pretty clear to most of us.Heretic;1262029 wrote:As opposed to how the other party apparently needed an 86-year-old actor to stumble through a speech? -

And with that you can sum up the difference between today's Democratic Party and the rest of us
Yep, what a disgrace. The government belongs to the people; we don't belong to government.
How ironic that blacks had to fight for freedom from slavery, and now we all fight the movement led by a black to enslave us to government.
