Michelle Bachmann's husband tries to straighten out gays

1 Either this was 10+ years ago or they are retarded for not suing.
2 Provide a link of someone being fired ij the last decade for being gay. Until I see a link I call BS. -
jmogFairwoodKing;839492 wrote:You respond to me because I have lived a gay lifestyle and I know what I'm talking about. Trust me, I am not the only gay person who is concerned about Bachmann's husband. The gay community has been very much up in arms ever since the story broke on ABC.
Everyone who has ever read your posts KNOWS you stretch the truth and/or are completely biased and combative in your responses. You type in hyperbole and only give anecdotal evidence like "I know a gay guy who..." instead of sticking to facts and/or giving links to stories to prove your point. -

The way the employer found out was because the employee joined Seattle Men's Chorus. The person's name is Dennis Coleman. The story had a happy ending because the chorus ultimately hired Dennis as artistic director. But most stories like this do not have happy endings.

Because sexual preference is not a protected class in most states until very very recently -

I think many Christians lump muslims and the "religion of peace" into a stereotypical group as well. All groups are bigoted and hypocritical.believer;839092 wrote: Your propensity to lump all Christians into a stereotypical "bigot group" is no different than some Christians (or any religious group for that matter) who lump all gays into the "sinner group."
Al Bundy;839203 wrote:I don't really care one way or another what they do with that, but why do we even need to know someone's sexual preference in a workplace?
I think it is often inevitable to find out someone's sexual preference in the workplace, especially in the military. Everyone lives and works so closely together in the military that it is NEARLY impossible to hide your sexual orientation. Under DADT, even if you didn't openly admit you were gay, but they found e-mails, letters, photos, etc. of a person that made it evidently clear they were gay, they would be discharged. Even though they were not asked and they didn't tell, they were found out and discharged. DADT is a terrible policy and I for one as a former military member and heterosexual am glad it has been repealed. -

No one should get bullied in school. Schools should be safe places for all students to learn and mature. It's not just gay students who get bullied, but they get bullied most of the time. Some of them get bullied both physically and emotionally all the time. The teachers do not give support and the students do not receive help from their parents. It is little wonder that of all recognizable groups, gay and lesbian teenagers have the highest rate of suicide. -

I don't even have sex any more and yet I live a gay lifestyle. I sing with Seattle Men's Chorus that has the biggest gay agenda of any organization in the Pacific NW. I participate in AIDS fundraisers. I have contributed financially to the "It Gets Better" program. I march in Gay Pride Parades and have done so as far away as Sydney, Australia. I do all of this because I'm trying to help the next generation of GLBT people. -

You just described every 'group' in high school. Hell, I went through all you just said for being overweight. Quit acting like bullying is more prominent against gays or lesbians in school, because it's not. Like I said, everyone gets bullied. -

IMO, what you described isn't a 'lifestyle', it's just a "Hey, look at me, I'm gay" agenda. -

When I said "group," I meant any age, any race, any gender, any orientation, any anything. Gay teenagers are more apt to commit suicide than anyone else in this country. The statistics are there to prove it. Yes, other kids do get bullied, but they generally have support somewhere. I have a background in education and I have worked with gay teens. Some of these children have no support anywhere on this planet except for what people like me can give them. The one criticism of "It Gets Better" is that some of these kids are in so deep right now that they can't wait two or three years until after they get out of high school. They need help immediately. It's up to people like me to figure out how these kids can get immediate help. -

I meant to describe what they are doing. Marriage is a union between man and woman by definition -

In a backward sense, you're right. Part of our agenda is to show the straight world how many of us there are in the GLBT world. That's why we encourage gay and lesbian people to get out of the closet and be visible. If we didn't constitute a significant portion of the population, I don't think Obama and other top political leaders would have contributed to "It Gets Better" nor would Obama have put his neck on the line to get rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell.
You may not like our tactics, but you have to admit they're working. Every year this country gets better for gays and lesbians. I think in about twenty years we will have full equality. I just hope I'm alive to see it. -

But who made up the definition? Two hundred years ago by definition slaves were owned by slave owners in the South. That was the definition, but it didn't make it right. -

If they are working, then why is there so much whining, crying, and complaining coming from the gay community? -

pretty sure the definition of slave, has always been the same. -

Or the gays can suck it up (no pun intended) and quit being a bunch of p*ssies. Support? Sorry, I didnt run to anyone for support whenever I was called fat. -

bigdaddy2003Wow I'm so tired of the bullying in school junk. Kids have ALWAYS been bullied and don't give me this crap about how it's so much worse now.

FairwoodKingGoChiefs;839883 wrote:If they are working, then why is there so much whining, crying, and complaining coming from the gay community?
Because we're not nearly there yet. It was just a few years ago that homosexual activity was illegal in many states. And Don't Ask Don't Tell is just now being repealed. There are still many places in this country where gay partners do not have visitation rights in hospitals. And 44 states do not allow gay marriage. We still have a lot of work to do. -

Don't want to mistake some guys as girls and vice versa. -

A slave whether it be in Egypt or Georgia the definition applies to both. -

I just call them by their names. Fairwood appears to feel differently in that regard. -

Homosexual women generally prefer to be called lesbians. If you refer to "a gay," you are usually talking about a man. And then there are the younger gays and lesbians who often describe themselves as "q u e e r." We older folks are not as fond of that.
