Check the thread in Serious Business, amazing GIF.

    Edit, here is it.

While I'd love to give credit to that group, it appears that there is no SEAL Team 6. :D ...loved that!

    Haha.

Where is the fail police for this mix up?

Love how some of the lefties on here and elsewhere are turning this political -- when the fact of the matter is all of you probably disagreed with many of the methods and policies that were put in place by President Bush that allowed us to get to this point. Policies which were continued by Obama, even after he decried them during his campaign.

Politicizing this is simply wrong. This was an AMERICAN operation that included some of our most capable folks from analysts to special ops, and everyone in-between.

How about we celebrate it as such instead of with the divisiveness a lot of you keep saying is hurting the country.

Besides dumb ass Gibby, who is making this political?

If you're referring to the "funny" pictures, then please lighten up. They're funny. Besides 1-2 posts from exclusively Gibby, people on here have been posting mostly positive comments about the situation and just having fun with a very big (positive) moment in our history.

Does anyone think they will release the name of the NAVY SEAL who pulled the trigger on Osama?

    From Ptown's article . . .
The conclusion is inescapable that the Pakistan Army protected bin Laden and recently decided to give him up, rather than sacrifice the Army's relationship with the US. The terms are not known as yet, but there certainly is a trade in which bin Laden was sacrificed.
I wonder what the consequences/fallout of that revelation will be? When I saw the photos of the home, and its nearness to the Pakistani military compound, that left little doubt that Pakistan was protecting him.

As a conservative Republican, all props to the President for his handling of the matter. All props to those who carried it out.

The fact that you would question what these SEALS and Marines did last night is a slap in their faces that they dont deserve!!!
Although I'm not questioning the validity of Osama's death, what the fuck does a random relative of someone in the military know that we don't?

I don't understand the timing of the message. Why do it at 11:30 on a Sunday night??

You either believe the President or you don't. He can offer no indisputable proof that Bin Laden is dead and he can't offer any indisputable that he didn't die of natural causes.

A great day in history and a major accomplishment for the Obama administration. Thank you Navy seals and everyone involved for fighting for our freedom. Justice prevailed.

I was very happy to have waited so long to hear the President make this announcement. I understand that he had to notify Congressional and world leaders before making this announcement. I'm sure that was part of the reason why it kept getting delayed. I'm also very happy that Obama himself called President Bush to let him know that we had finally brought this animal to justice. I was hoping that he would do so and he showed some class by calling the former President before going on the air.

This was a great team effort, nearly 10 years in the making. God bless all of those who were involved in the operation. I know we'll probably never know the identity of the SEAL who made the kill shot, but he can go to sleep every night for the rest of his life knowing that he delivered a great deed for all Americans.

The SEAL team that did this doesn't even officially exist, from what I understand. :) So no, the name of whoever shot the bastard will NEVER, EVER be released. Besides, it would put he and his family in jeopardy for the remainder of their lives if you did so.

As for speculation that this hasn't happened...come on. Enough with the conspiracy theories. They had the body, they used the DNA they had from his sister to make a sibling match to confirm, and then they chucked his body into the sea for the sharks to eat (yes, I know after observing some sort of ceremony, which is more than he deserved.)

They have photos and video of much of this, I'm sure, which could be used as proof if necessary. I doubt they'll want to release any, though, because they'll be accused by the Islamic kooks of somehow desecrating him or offending Allah.

There's no reason to discount this as truth, so far as I can see.

As for whether Pakistan hid him all these years: yep. I don't think there's any doubt. I want to know the quid pro quo that took place for them to finally give him up. I hope to God it wasn't more bribery (that we can't afford, anyway) but I'm guessing it has to do with both money and backing of the current regime against those who hate them in Pakistan.
