Glen Beck coming to Wilmington, Ohio
-
CenterBHSFanI'm with the train of thought that any money a business makes is good for the community. Every town that has ever had an attraction such as a Christmas show, concerts, speakers, light shows, etc. - Those booms are cyclical and I'm sure the town is not going to be stupid enough to turn them down only because they're cyclical or temporary.
That kind of thinking (we don't want a spurt of money being spent in our town) will only put your ass in the air, and what good is that?
Pants, being level-headed is fine but I think that that can be taken to extremes, also. In fact, I think people (read as politicians) have focused so much on playing that part and portraying it to us (the people) that it has developed this massive sense of complacency and drowsiness in this country, that we're now going through this painful withdrawal from our governmental NyQuil. -
ernest_t_bassThe public NEEDS people like Beck, just like they NEED people like Olbermann. Some people NEED the extremist in order for the issue to even be brought to their attention. Think of how many people would ignore the news altogether if there weren't extremist.
-
revgatI don't believe the public needs people to tell them lies and pass them off as fact. That doesn't help anything, even if it does bring an issue to the public's attention.

That happens with your most trusted politicians as well. Not EVERYTHING Beck says is a lie. -
I Wear PantsBut even when they aren't lies people like Beck and Olbermann use such massive stretches of anything that could be considered reasonable logic to make their points that they might as well be lying.
If a person needs a Beck or Olbermann to scream that the country is being overrun by communists/Nazis (Beck does both pretty often) and that the Republicans want to kill all the poor then I'd rather them not watch or pay attention to any news because they're likely too stupid to understand it.
That's not saying that everyone who listen's to Beck or Olbermann is stupid, just that if you have no interest in the news unless someone is screaming that you're going to die/someone is stealing your freedoms/etc then you probably don't have enough interest in the political happenings to really understand it. -

No, I mean YOU people. And if you thought for yourself, you wouldn't be scouring the internet to find obscure studies to prove silly talking points. So there.Bigdogg;604311 wrote:Do you mean what's YOUR peoples excuse? LOL Fail!!! I am smart enough to think for myself. -
