Glen Beck coming to Wilmington, Ohio

  • ernest_t_bass
I saw this on his show last week. Sad, sad story what happened to Wilmington, with the leaving of DHL.
  • Ty Webb
Is he charging $495 a ticket like he is in Cleveland?

    $496, I think.

Are you referring to Beck or Gibby/Webb?

No, $125.00 and its sold out already. Net proceeds from his show there go to a Charity in Wilmington. Shame on Beck for caring.

$125 is still too much...I bet the crowd will look like this:

He cares so much about the common man that is cheapest ticket is Cleveland to hear him spew the same shit he does on TV is $90

And do you honestly think he isn't getting paid for this
  • Skyhook79
Why was this put in the Politics forum????????

You couldn't be more wrong. Why don't you come to Wilmington and see for yourself who is going to be there. There is going to be a lot more people in Wilmington that day, other than those going to the show.

I'm not going to drive 2 hours to listen to someone I hate spew the same shit he does on TV.

There may be alot of people there...alot who will be protesting him. I would be willing to bet there are more protesters than people attending the event
  • I Wear Pants
Ty, that's just stupid. There will be more people there to see him than protesting him.

I think Beck is terrible and bad for pretty much everything but to suggest he won't draw a crowd is a lie.

I really can't think of a reason why any reasonable person would go see him.

Him and Olberdouche should start a Far Left vs Far Right speaking tour across the country. That way we can keep most of the stupidity concentrated in one area.
  • Ty Webb
I never said he can't draw a crowd. It's sold out already

But look, this is a small Theatre that looks to hold only about 500 people(maybe)

It's not completely unreasonable to think that someone won't organize a protest againist him that will rival the number of attendees at his speech
  • Prescott
Why would anyone care about this? If you like Beck, go listen. If you don't, stay away. In America people have freedoms. Beck has the right to hold an event and we have the right to go or not go.
  • ernest_t_bass
Why such disdain for Beck? Because he's against what our Govt and Feds are doing and he's speaking his mind?

Mainly for the way he presents whatever he says. He is too over-dramatic to make his show watchable. It would be better if he didn't ever speak, but at least it is going toward a good cause.
  • Bigdogg
Good for him. Making lots of money off of stupid people, God bless the USA!
  • Prescott
It would be better if he didn't ever speak,
Why?? Doesn't everybody have the right to speak.Nobody makes anyone listen.
  • I Wear Pants
Everyone has a right to speak and good for Glenn Beck for getting his. That doesn't stop the things that come out of his mouth being unfortunate most of the time and sadly influencing a lot of people.

Would I prefer that he didn't do what he does or at least not in the way that he does it? Yup.

Would I ever insist that he doesn't have the right to do what he does or protest against him? No, that'd be pretty stupid. I mean, I'll argue his points on the internet or with friends occasionally but any more than that and I'm not wasting time getting upset about it.

Maybe I should say, I would rather he didn't speak, but he has the right to.

Because a lot of them are untrue or partisan puffery?

Similar to what any of the big news commentary shows do.
  • ernest_t_bass
Honest question b/c I don't know specifically... what is something he has said that has been proven to be untrue? Honest question.
