I realize you are offended by our efforts to prevent those not so bad guys who hate American imperialism from opposing us the only way they can. -

yeh we were so far away that the British were able to burn down our capital city 196 years ago. Of course you oppose our attempts to protect our citizens, hardly a surprise given your expressed views.I Wear Pants;569628 wrote:Maybe it's because we're really far away from anyone who would want to or legitimately could invade us. -

we are putting a system in place that should protect American lives from a real threat. the best alternative usually works well in Israel but it is best suited toward that small state and its special circumstances. -

Isadore, you support terrorism far more than I do. Your fear mongering and blatent disregard for personal rights is exactly what the terrorists want. People like you make them win. -

The vast majority of Americans endorse the new system
81% to 15%

Manhattan BuckeyeHalf of Americans don't pay income taxes. What percentage do you think fly? If you aren't subject to the search (and again the poll only mentioned the scan, not the pat-down) why not say you support it?

LOL, you write sympathetically of these killers of Americans. You see us as imperialists, forcing the world in your words to bow down before us. You see them as having no other option than "brutal tactics." Then you oppose the necessary defensive measure to protect American life. Short of buying their tickets you could do much more for them. -

Did you ever wonder why they call it terror-ism? Fear is what they thrive on and what their goal is. Their goals aren't only to kill people but to cause panic, havoc, and fear.isadore;569738 wrote:me and the large majority of Americans support want this new system to protect american lives. but here in cloud cuckooland the sites endorsed position is what could possibly wrong with putting them on the planes.
Reactionary measures that infringe on rights because we're afraid of what might happen if we don't do them only tells the terrorists that what they are doing is working. -

after commenting on the number of Americans that pay taxes, you asked what percentage do fly. And the answer is 3/4s. But of course then you try to change the question when you do not like the answer. 3/4s of the American people have flown and the large majority of them feel safer with the new system. -

The analysis of the situation by you who
Feels we are an imperialist nation that wants to force the world to grovel before us.
Feels that our enemies are not necessarily such bad guys.
Feels that they only have these brutal means available to them to use against America and Americans.
And who opposes means supported by the large majority of American people for protection in the air, they do not see it as this enormous infringement on their personal rights.
But of course you would prefer our defenses be down. -

Why should it matter when "Paranormal experts say people reach the peak of their ability to see ghosts when they're 7 years old" ?
Forget the number of people that engage in air travel, that is far more important. -

Yes sir, IWP.
I was thinking about the large chart that justincredible posted last night (about 5 pages ago) and how many miles and flights have flown and only 4 acts of terrorism have been "successful". I realize memories and reactions of 911 have caused much of today's security measures, but there is an awful lot of time, money, and resources devoted to keeping people safer than from lightning strikes by a wide margin. I'm somewhat torn between having my governmnet protect our country and by the depth and breadth they have undertaken to keep Americans safer. Eventually, the question: What price liberty? needs asked, and for now, we are willing to be photographed naked, remove clothing at a TSA agent's request, get groped/sexually assaulted by those making just a little more than minimum wage, and live in fear when we see muslims in airports (Juan Williams). Where will it end? I don't know the answer, but the federal government appears to have no boundaries, and that scares the hell out of me.
That is...except when our country's security along the Mexican border comes into play...then it's no naked photos, no groping, no fences, nothing....but signs telling Americans to stay out of America. Does anyone else find this odd that the feds will go to almost any extreme to check passengers getting on planes in the USA, but they could give a rat's ass about illegal aliens pouring into our country. I suppose I could buy them usurping our 4th Amendment rights if they were consistent across the board...but then that wouldn't provide a voting block, now would it? -
isadoreBecause there are problems with our borders, you wish to give the terrorists a free pass at our airports. So they can do replay on 9/11 the biggest slaughter of American civilians in our history, no matter how justincredible plays with statistics.

You are quite good at twisting things. I thought my wife was the champ...but she could take a pointer or two from you.
No...it's just the opposite of what you twisted. The feds will go to any means necessary to keep terrorists off of airlines, yet, look the other way when tens of thousands of illegal aliens stroll across our "border". Gee...you think any of these fine folks are packing or a member of a gang? Ask the peeps of Arizona if they think these illegal aliens are a threat to them.
Why have it both ways? If you are for preventing a "slaughter of American civilians", shouldn't you be for it all the way? Why stop at airports? Why not control our borders? If security is indeed not a political issue, then there should be no holds barred....right? -
isadoreOk lets have it both ways. I definitely believe in much stronger control of our borders. a real commitment by the government to end illegal crossing of our borders and make our borders secure.

I disagree vehemently with many of their expressed opinions. But you are the only one who has expressed opinions on other threads that are hatefully anti-American and sympathetic toward our enemies. claiming we imperialist state trying to make the world bow to us. Anyway, I still don't see how these new TSA regs are going to be particularly effective. If I'm a terrorist I just shove some explosive up my ass or swallow it now. Voila! Got around these security measures! -

Or, just explode yourself at the airport while waiting in line.
