Swamp FoxBottom line is that Strickland has drawn nearly even and it would appear that the conservative wave is diminishing in Ohio. I'm guessing that in two years it will have diminished nationally as well. Much to the chagrin of those who have so actively and aggressively opposed Obama, things are bound to improve and more Americans will start to experience the benefit of some of the programs that Obama and his folks have enacted and like it or not, those people will vote in droves. Someone should tell whoever it is that keeps posting that 17% lead for Kasich, that the current numbers don't even come close to that any more.

Bottom line is that you're incorrect. Kasich is up 6-9 points, and has this race locked up. Ask Lee Fisher or Steve Driehaus if the wave is diminishing. You people are funny. :rolleyes:Swamp Fox;508949 wrote:Bottom line is that Strickland has drawn nearly even and it would appear that the conservative wave is diminishing in Ohio. QuakerOatsSwampfox needs some better information; not only is Kasich going to whip Strickland, congress may go conservative by historic numbers.
"The Gallup high turnout and low turnout numbers suggest it looks like 1894, when Republicans gained more than 100 seats in a House of approximately 350 seats."

I have eaten pigeon before. Not the best, but not bad. If Kasich does lose we will be expecting you to follow through with that promise. We will need pics or it didn't happen.cbus4life;510261 wrote:If Kasich doesn't win i will eat the pigeon that was sitting next to me today at lunch.
Don't worry to much. You won't be eating pigeon. -
cbus4lifeI'm feeling very confident as well.

CenterBHSFanHmmm... I'm just wondering how much money is being spent all throughout the US for campaigning every year. Is there a site out there that keeps tab totals?

I heard the guy took hundreds of thousands of jobs, packed them into shipping crates, and personally shipped all of them to China- all by himself!
Can't believe that nobody is picking up on this stuff. -

I wouldn't be so cocky about Kasich "whipping" Strickland if I were you. This is going to be very very close either way it goes. I see Teddy pulling it out by 1.5% -

If Strickland does win it, hopefully the job-loss-scare will light a fire under his ass and make him actually do SOMETHING different than what he's done so far.
But right now, the only thing Strickland has going for him is NRA support. Big freakin deal.
He's got nothing else. -
QuakerOatsTy, latest Quinnipiac just came out:
Kasich 50%
Teddy 41%

Not in this, or any other lifetime. It might not end up being a "whipping" in the classic sense, but JK wins solidly, 53-47 or so. The networks will call it by 9:45pm...so you'll at least be able to get a good nights sleep. -

Yes,which is down from 54-37% in September
Teddy has been cutting into his lead since the middle of September, and I would not be the least bit suprised to see him pull this out.

That bastard, how dare he! Thankfully the democrats never do that! (Sarcasm alert!!!)
If the dems are rallying on this point they are in a lot more trouble than I thought. Btw, if people buy this as a reason to vote lib than people are a lot dumber than I thought. -

If you think any of the people you see in political adds are real, their words are not scripted, and they are just randomly speaking their free mind, you are quite naive.Ty Webb;511939 wrote:Also,Kasich is hiring actors to play workers in his ads -
Y-Town SteelhoundI want someone to name ONE positive thing that Strickland has done in his time in office that warrants him re-election. I see a state crippled with job loss. Kasich has a record of balancing budgets and producing results. It's time for a change in Columbus before it's too late. As a college student and soon-to-be graduate, Ted Strickland in office is not exactly convincing me or my peers to stay in Ohio and build a life. Ohio is my home, where I grew up , where I go to school. I would love nothing more than to build a business and a family here. But the economic climate that Strickland has created in this state is just not making that possible.
Before, the concern was losing jobs to other COUNTRIES. Now we're losing jobs at record rates to other STATES. Ohio needs to get on the ground floor of a new industry and run with it (no one thought the computer industry would be this big 40 years ago). The old folks hoping the old manufacturing jobs are coming back need to go. Ohio needs to move forward and become a friendlier economic climate for new industries and entrepreneurs to build and grow their businesses. More years of Strickland will lead to the continual decay and eventual death of cities like Cleveland, Youngstown, and Toledo. -
CenterBHSFanAgreed, Steelhound!

IAccording to the Department of Taxation, "Once corporations file 2009 franchise tax returns... the vast majority of them will be done with the tax for good...Overall, these and other tax changes contained within House Bill 66 represent a net annual tax cut of about $1.8 billion annually starting in fiscal year 2010." [Department of Taxation, 10/14/2009]Ohio Ranked In Top Ten For Economic Growth. A Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank study found that in the second quarter of 2010, Ohio has the 6th fastest growing economy in the nation. [Reed Construction Data, 8/3/2009, Philadelphia Federal Reserve]
http://www.tedstrickland.com/content/pages/accomplishments/One of Governor Strickland’s first actions in 2007 was to pass and sign a two-year balanced budget, without a tax increase. In 2009, he did it again, despite facing our nation’s worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. How’d he do it? By being determined to make state government live within its means and invest in what truly matters most.
As the economic crisis began, the governor made difficult decisions to reduce his original budget by more than $2 billion – eliminating more than 3,000 positions across state government. With the help of his cabinet, he found ways to provide services to the people of Ohio more effectively and more efficiently. He did this while funding a property tax cut for all senior citizen homeowners in Ohio, a two-year tuition freeze at state colleges and universities, expanded child health care and increased investments in job creation and alternative energy.
This year, the governor did it again. He balanced the 2010/2011 budget and did it without tax increases. Just as importantly, the budget includes an unprecedented investment in reforming K-12 education in Ohio and making our colleges and universities among the best in the nation. The budget also expands health care eligibility to an additional 109,000 Ohioans. Finally, the budget includes new job-creation tax credits and holds down tuition increases at state colleges and universities.

You are wasting your time trying to change anyone's mind on this forum. The Republican party has fucked this state up for years and they want to put them in charge of everything again. Guess what, the schools funding will not get fixed, our taxes will go up, and the jobs are still going to go where the cheap labor is or where the tax payers in other states will pony up the dollars to bribe them to move there. Kasich will be laughing all the way to the bank.
