So gubmint health care will make things better? Oh I forgot...It's - um - "free."Bigdogg;883702 wrote:Oats, My healthcare costs have increased an average of 10% a year with decreasing benefits and higher delectables. This is not sustainable and SOMETHING HAD to be done. Wall-Mart is the largest employer in the world and most of their employees are on Medicaid.
Forcing companies like Wal Mart, for example, to incur costs of programs like ObamaKare will result only in fewer Wal Mart employees...and then the remaining employees, of course, will have to take up the slack. But hey, their newly improved health care will compensate for any stress induced health issues, right?
It will also encourage even more American companies to offshore their labor costs.
YES health care costs in this country are on the rise. While there have been PLENTY of past threads discussing this topic, suffice it to say that poorly conceived federal mandates won't solve the problem.
By the way, higher delectables? Is that a steak at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse vs. Texas Roadhouse? -
Bigdogg
Wal-Mart and lots of other companies are already passing on their healthcare costs to the taxpayers by offering insurance coverage that they know their employees can't afford to take. In the absence of health insurance reform, which you damm well know this is what your so call "obamacare" is, more and more employers will follow suit. That's my plan with my company if this gets repealed.believer;883989 wrote:So gubmint health care will make things better? Oh I forgot...It's - um - "free."

OK you win. The president should not be blamed....ever....for anything...it's always the Congress' fault. The 1970's stagflation...here I thought Ford and Carter were to blame. My bad. The end of the cold war in the 80's? Way to go Congress!!jmog;883441 wrote:You have now lost all credibility because I have NEVER said such a thing. I know exactly who on this board did say that but I let you search for their post while you go looking to quote me saying sucj a thing.
If you cant find me saying it and quote me then go back to the drawing board with your bs.
Fact: Establishment republicans are just as bad as dems when it comes to spending. They just do it in different areas.
Fact: The congress controls the budget.
Fact: Republican controlled congresses have done a better job at controlling the debt than democratic. The chart I posted earlier does not lie.
Fact: Your spin doesn't change the facts.
Clinton's balanced budget....I salute the Congress. Bush's illegal wars? That was the Congress' fault. Obamas wars? Congress' fault too. The 3 to 2 ratio in expanding the national debt...under GOP presidents vs. Democrats....since 1980, it was the Congress signing things.
Moreover, why blame Obama for increasing the national debt 4.3 trillion in his first 2 years? Not his doing of course...all those pesky GOPers in the House are responsible. Thanks for the civics' lessons. -
fish82
I don't recall many (if any) saying that. I think the gist of the point is then when it comes to budgetary/deficit/debt matters, we can't just talk POTUS. Congress has to have a prominent role in the conversation...both the good and the bad.Footwedge;884139 wrote:OK you win. You should. Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming by Newt and the boys of '94.Footwedge;884139 wrote:Clinton's balanced budget....I salute the Congress.
Um, Congress gave the president the authority to do what he did, thereby making them legal. Smart? Intelligent? That's for another thread.Bush's illegal wars? That was the Congress' fault.
Congress shares the blame here (as fish pointed out). The president's sharing of ideology with a majority in the House and a filibuster proof majority in the Senate put the "spending" of tax and spend liberalism on steroids. Moreover, why blame Obama for increasing the national debt 4.3 trillion in his first 2 years? What's the matter? You couldn't back up YOUR claim that "I said that Obama had added more to the debt than all President's combined" or whatever and you fly off the deep end?Footwedge;884139 wrote:OK you win. No one said that President's have zero blame, we said that Congress controls budgets, which is FACTUALLY CORRECT. We never said that President's didn't have a say, matter of fact we have stated over and over that President's could veto (and many President's should have).
You don't even get your timelines correct, the GOPers have only had the house for 1 year, who had it the first 2 years BHO was President and who has had the Senate all 3 years?
The GOPers in the House have passed a few laws trying to reign in spending, cut the deficit, balance the budget, and the Ds have done nothing but block them.
If you actually read what has been said you will see that we have all said that establishment Rs have definitely spent way too much as well as the Ds, but in your rage you fail to actually read the posts (quite obvious by the fact that you attribute a false statement to me about Obama's spending more than any previous President). -

At first I thought this might be a little extreme, but after this weekend? Apparently the Left believes they are at war. Hoffa with Obama at his side calling for war and introducing Obama to his army of thugs ready to take the "Sons of Bitches" out. And Biden whaling the "barbarians" are at the gate.believer;881434 wrote:I firmly believe we are in the midst of Civil War II. -
tk421Why the hell does Clinton get credit for a balanced budget when the debt was INCREASED each and every year he was president? What kind of funny accounting is going on where you can have a debt increase and still have everyone believe you've balanced a budget? I don't get it.

This is exactly what was intended, Oats. Create more dependency on the government to provide health care so as increase the false "need" for a single-payer system. In the way ObamaKare was designed to ultimately fail, the government's solution to their own failure will be to take it completely over. It will be sold by saying, "we tried to fix the health care problem with the private market insurance companies, but the private market failed. Since health care is a right that no one can go without, the federal government will be more in charge than ever as we weed out the greedy evil rotten capitalists." They will be seen as champions riding white horses to save the day.QuakerOats;885034 wrote:http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/gallup-uninsured-have-increased-under-ob

This kind of speech must be OK with the Left as no one is denouncing it, including the standard Obama defenders on the OC.majorspark;884921 wrote:At first I thought this might be a little extreme, but after this weekend? Where's the scolding from the Commander-of-the-Classroom? Where's the Giffords' funeral speech today? Oh, I forgot. Hate speech only applies to Palin, Bachmann, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, and O'Reilly. Got it. -

WriterbuckeyeThe Obama-bots on this board will never comment on this topic (the hypocrisy of hate rhetoric) because they also believe it only applies to those on the right. Anything the left says is perfectly acceptable.

Not only Hoffa and Biden, but you have to love the adorable Maxine Waters as well: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/61828.html
How about Chuckie Schumer's Republicans have "held a gun to our heads" quip?
I still recall the Bammer's recent "can't we all just get along" speech in Arizona. Why isn't BHO calling his buddies out on this stuff? Why aren't the MSM talking heads making this the main topic on their Sunday morning round-table discussions? We all know the answer to that question. -

This shit is every where on the left. If Obama is looking for civil discourse like he said in his speech in Arizona he better reign in the Congressional Black Caucus. Oh and believer, another one who agrees that we are in a second civil war, clip two in the video compilation features congressman Cedric Richmond who also makes that claim.believer;885359 wrote:Not only Hoffa and Biden, but you have to love the adorable Maxine Waters as well: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/61828.html

Was it not President Obama himself that gave a big speech of civility and toning down the rhetoric? I guess that must have been just for the right. Party of "do what I say not what I do" strikes again.Ty Webb;885519 wrote:Spark.....Don't act like the right doesn't act this way either.

OBAMA said it was wrong
OBAMA said it needs to stop (Giffords speech in AZ)
OBAMA promulgates this speech by staying SILENT
Do Repub candidates use unfortunate language? Likely, but the leader of the free world LOOKS THE OTHER WAY when his side does it, so what does it say for his leadership skills? Why should anyone pay attention to his lecturing when he demonstrates support for things he says are wrong. OR...Is he just a partisan hack, unworthy of the title of President?
Which is it...partisan hack or piss-poor leader? -
Ty WebbFair Point BG.....but answer me this:

Bottom line: You people are the ones whining incessantly about "nasty rhetoric," but then look the other way when your side does it. What say we pick a position and stick with it? -
Ty WebbHave you heard me complaining about rhetoric??
Although I think a segment of the Arizona GOP holding a raffle for the same kind of glock that was used to shoot Gabby Giffords was kinda out there
And did you not just see me call out my side for what certain people in my party said? -

LOL. Like clockwork. Clinton gets all the blame...but the Congress gets all the credit...for the federal surplus. Thanks for 100% proving my point!jhay78;884478 wrote:You should. Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming by Newt and the boys of '94.
LOL. Once again, thanks for proving my point. War turns to crap, and you blame the Congress...great job!. And BTW...the war was illegal in my book....there was no declaration of war made by Congress. After the Congress was lied to by the band of neocons in the executive branch, the Congress said...."hey Bush and Cheney, do whatever you see fit to do". The ridiculous talking point that somehow the Congress "agreed" with the bogus intelligence, is one of the biggest piles of crap ever constituted by the warhawks. A joke....and in my opinion, indefensible. It was not the Congress' job to interpret tens of thousands of pages regarding intel documents.Um, Congress gave the president the authority to do what he did, thereby making them legal. Smart? Intelligent? That's for another thread.
As opposed to the "borrow and spend even more" conservatives on ecstacy. Got it.:rolleyes:Congress shares the blame here (as fish pointed out).
