    when they lace them up this sat there will be some happy and some teers but all will have competed and looked to reach atopthesummit^. if you have not competed you do not understand the climb. if you have not flown like a hawk you cannot understand the majesty of the breeze betweenst your feathers. does a snake know why he is a snake? do wrestlers know why they compete? no. don't question it, it just is. here's hoping all of you this weekened reach atopthesummit^

    Oh, these post-state tournament and wrestling season blues. They have me down. So sad.

    It was a great season. I enjoyed it thoroughly. However, now it is gone. A time to wrestle, and a time not to wrestle. There is a time for every season under the sun.

    ...still not much consolation though.

    But, I am heading out to the B1G Champinships out in Illinois so that's cool!

    I know a guy who has a pilot license. He also has a plane. So he and I, along with another friend, are flying to Champaign. I am telling my wife that after the Inside The Circle - District Tournament Whiteboard edition, we are wanted by all the big time networks. Kind of like tBTN. We might not see any airtime this go-round but there could be opportunities in the future. So they are flying us out the Illinois to get a better feel.

    Ha! She saw right through that. Once again, her only fault is her choice in men.

    Great news!!! Actually, not great; just more honorable. I'm hearing that Nike is going to stop manufacturing wrestling shoes. Cool.

    I'm still boycotting the purchasing of ANYTHING Nike until Oregon is reinstated, but whatever.

    Wrestling shoes should only be Asics anyway! Blue, red or black suede with silver stripes, three red dots on a white sole. :cool:

    It would be sooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome if NCAA XC's come back to Terre Haute, Phil Knight comes again to watch the Ducks and I just happened to run into him.
    Make a huge arse of myself and hope Flo catches it on video!

    I'm ashamed to admit I was a huge fan of the swoosh company. Pisses me off they still make the best spikes on the market.

    It's a small plane. Small = four passengers, but the weight limit for the 1h 38m flight won't allow for four. Yes... That small.

    Yikes! It's like I'm living in a parallel universe or something.

    All day long I sit and take names for my In School Suspension monitoring gig. Whatevs.

    A school resource officer came to my room looking for a kid. He hadn't arrived yet. The RO was confused because he wasn't in his assigned class, which is how the RO found out the kid was assigned ISS. So about a minute later I hear the kid's name over the PA asking for him to report to the office.

    About four minutes laster I hear a knock at my door. Who is it, you wonder??? THE VERY KID who was called to the office. Now, no one comes into my class late without a pass. I ask him where his pass is and he says he doesn't have one. Confused (because I know the office would have given him one), I asked,"Did you go to the office?" He says no and looks at me as if I have a third eyeball!?!?!?

    This can not be happening!!!!!

    Similarly, two nights ago, my wife is communicating with me about ways she can get her first grade class to follow her directions. I asked how many steps were involved and is it realistic for a kid to be able to follow that many. She looks at my son to ensure he's not looking and she mouths,"They are one step directions!"

    I said the good thing is that they are first graders. I deal with 15, 16, and 17 year olds who - although we trust with a one-ton vehicle at high rates of speed - we can not trust follow basic lunch time procedures.

    Great news! My son is now listening. He asks what the procedures are. A bit annoyed at the reality that is (high schoolers can't follow two or three-step directions) I tell my son what I say everyday..."Go downstairs. Use the restroom if you have to. If you don';t have to, or when you finish using the restroom, walk into the cafeteria and stand at the door for line #4. The door will be locked, but as soon as the bell rings, it will open, and you will be the first however many in line."

    I then asked my son (8 years old) "Son, what line would you go to?" He responded with #4. I asked him, "What line do you think they line up for?" His answer was amazingly telling. He didn't pick a line. No, he stated the over-arching principle... Any line BUT #4!!! AND THE WORST PART IS THAT HE'S CORRECT!!!!!!!! THEY DO NOT go to line four. WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

    And seriously, just HOW MANY people can ACTUALLY be in the running for your baby's daddy. When that number is above 2, there is a problem. Actually, one, but I get it. When you throw up 2 raised to the 4th power! something has to change!
