  The very fact that you're attempting to quote Mark Simpson as your source of knowledge is amusing to me, albeit probably singularly amusing premised on the fact that I am the only one who realizes how silly it is. There are multiple fallacies in your attempt at defining metro sexual which require you to be skilled at research, sociohistoric interpretations, and critical thinking. While most acquire these skills in life, some acquire them in higher education, specifically graduate education. And there are some who never acquire them regardless at their attempts at education or life. However, graduate education is my vocation and my friend, I'm a workaholic. I have more graduate degrees in research than most ever care to realize exists. So let me see if I can break this down for you. (I realize this cannot be esteem with such a well known motivational speaker, but I'll have to live with that.)
  1. Mark Simpson is British and he was describing a specific economic and social trend in European countries. This may not make any sense at first to you, but maybe you understand this- Words in Europe don't mean the same thing as they do in America, or North America for that matter. (e.g. bloody, barrister, or bobby)
  2. His attempt at coining this word was in 1994, and was not accepted into mainstream society. In other words, his attempt as a journalist to apply already disproven Freudian theory to his own theory on marketing phenomenon was discredited. His book was an attempt to produce an anti-laissez faire ethics argument on male exploitation. In addition, the very fact that it was published in 1994 should indicate to you that it could mean something different today. (e.g. gay, stupid, screw...)
  3. Your own source on quotation book described him as "the skinhead Oscar Wilde." This also may mean very little to you unless you know something about Oscar Wilde. He married a woman, spoke out against homosexuality, and then was imprisoned because of homosexual offense. Essentially your source called Mark Simpson a self-loathing hypocrite rendering the effective of your cited quote powerless.
  4. American media revisited the phrase later in an attempt to describe the American metropolitan male who was secure enough in his sexuality to get manicures, facials, and shop at trendy stores. This male creature was also creative enough to incorporate this lifestyle into conquest of the opposite sex. He has become iconic-- yes iconic-- in American pop culture. He's endowed with money, women, a well-paying job, and good looks. He is not however gay.
  5. I, long ago, invoked the right to censure the conversations that I had with people through the implementation of an IQ requirement. I do not require that those I hold discourse with be members in good standing with mensa, but those whose IQ falls into the negative z score range are not acceptable persons with which to chat-- or in archaic British as you seem to like vis-a-vis.

I post (very seldom actually, look at the total) on this thread in order to keep in touch with some of the individuals I wrestled with and against in high school. Many of the names that were mentioned fall into this category. Because we have known each other so long, many of these posts are references to things that are inside jokes and are not related to anyone or any situation. I have never, and will never intentionally make fun of any wrestler. I didn't know I had. In any case, I could care less about anyone's opinion, now you are along for the ride...50,00 or bust.

  I have no idea what the he__ most of that means. But I've decided that if there are that many hot metro sexuals in the Ohio wrestling scene, my son is wrestling there next week. I'm going to have to bring my husband to keep me in line though because I may not be able to control myself under such temptations. Thanks for the heads up-

  3. It should make my mind spin it's so hard to come back from the insult. I've got seven brothers and no sisters so you're going to have to work hard here. No kid's stuff. My nine year old talks better trash than this.

  Can't wait! I loathe the entitlement mentality. And there seems to plenty going around. That's is certainly one good thing about this sport... (for the most part) you get what you earn.

  To simply answer this part in the interest to detract from your latest conspiracy theory, I won't argue that a person affiliated with a particular high school probably shouldn't be part of a hearing concerning a potential opponent of a potential state champ in that weight class.
  
  But...why (other than being a biased parent), was your kid the "most likely opponent"? A former state champ in Goebel was in the weight class. Pizzuto, who was 1-1 versus Goebel the previous year, was also there. Your kid lost 12-7 last year to a West Jeff kid who Heminger pinned around the 3-minute mark at districts that year. Brakeman had him at #9. I really doubt there was any "if we ban him, our kid can win" mentality there, like you seem to try to be assuming.
