Haslam has struggled this season. Possibly the lack of a good workout partner.

    Ray (119) isn't terrible.

Watkins is 3-1 so far, wins over Franklin Heights, Big Walnut, and Delaware Hayes. Lost too Bradley pretty soundly. We have Mount Vernon on thursday and New Albany/Olentangy Orange the next week. Mt. Vernon would be a tall task but i wouldn't put beating Orange and New Albany out of the realm of possibility, should match up well with orange in the middle weights and if our line-up is still whole (a tall task for us in recent years) we shouldn't give up any forfeits.

Let's revisit this. Now that we have one, maybe two duals remaining, what was on... what was off. Can anyone list the current placement for their OCC division?

    OCC-Capital
    1. Mt. Vernon (Will be a GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! dual with Orange)
    2. Olentangy Orange (Will be a GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! dual with Mt. Vernon)
    3. Big Walnut (Solid. Could be switched with Bradley.)
    4. Hilliard Bradley (Solid. Could be switched with Big Walnut. Is this their first year with a senior class??? If so, it could be a difference maker.)
    5. Delaware Hayes
    6. New Albany
    7. Watkins Memorial
    8. Franklin Heights

    OCC-Cardinal
    1. Olentangy Liberty Patriots (I'd pay money to see the Patriots dual the Braves! Wait... if I want to see the dual, I suppose I'd have to pay, huh!?)
    2. Olentangy Braves (Anyone know WHERE and WHEN the dual vs. O. Lib will be???)
    3. Marysville Monarchs (Not out of the hunt at all. I just thought I'd list divisions without ties.)
    4. Westerville North Warriors (Has the coaching and capability to move up.)
    5. Dublin Jerome Celtics
    6. Westerville Central Warhawks
    7. Westerville South Wildcats
    8. Dublin Scioto Irish (Actually, this is not true. I'm not sure where they'll fit in, but I thought I'd have a little fun with the maddog!)

    OCC-Central
    1. Hilliard Davidson Wildcats (I heart grief.)
    2. Hilliard Darby Panthers (Always strong and always deep.)
    3. Worthington Kilbourne Wolves (Pretty tough throughout.)
    4. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks (I'll get my first taste of the Shamrocks this Saturday. Come get some, Bobby! ;))
    5. Central Crossing Comets (Regained the big guns; we'll see how it goes in a dual meet.)
    6. Upper Arlington Golden Bears
    7. Galloway Westland Cougars
    8. Thomas Worthington Cardinals

    OCC-Ohio
    1. Gahanna-Lincoln Lions (It's a little known fact that Gahanna did indeed beat Pick. North in a dual last year.)
    2. Pickerington North Panthers (Very good, top to bottom.)
    3. Lancaster Golden Gales (Very improved. Must've been that over-the-summer wrestling! :D)
    4. Grove City Greyhounds (Could very easily move up 1, 2, or 3 spots by late January.)
    5. Pickerington Central Tigers (Year #2 of the Jacket. Watch out!)
    6. Reynoldsburg Raiders
    7. Newark Wildcats
    8. Groveport-Madison Cruisers (That's the way the old ball bounces sometimes.)
  • cruiser_96
    As for the OCC Ohio...

    OCC-Ohio
    1. Gahanna-Lincoln Lions (Still has to wrestle Pick. North.)
    1. Lancaster Golden Gales (Still has to wrestle Pick. Central.)
    1. Pickerington Central Tigers (Still has to wrestle Lancaster.)
    4. Pickerington North Panthers
    5. Grove City Greyhounds
    6. Reynoldsburg Raiders
    7. Groveport-Madison Cruisers
    8. Newark Wildcats

Lancaster beat Gahanna this year 47-17. They are the only undefeated OCC - Ohio team. Shouldn't they be number 1? Lancaster vs Pickerington Central makeup is tonight.
  • cruiser_96
What happens if Gahanna beats Pick. North, Pick. Central beats Lancaster? I only left them all at #1 for the possibility.

    Lancaster @ Pick. Central??????????
  • pickpanther
    Correct. At Pick Central
  • cruiser_96
Ooooh... Enticing! I might make an appearance. 6 or 7pm start time!?!?!?!?!
  • pickpanther
Don't know but they usually go at 6:00 at Central
  • TigerRaider1
Good thing Lancaster didn't waste any energy last night against Reynoldsburg 55-9! I think Reynoldsburg had 5 forfeits!
  • superduck313
    westerville north beat marysville
  • cruiser_96
Yeah right! They couldn't beat their way out of a wet paper bag! :D

Actually, I remember that. OCC Cardinal was way off for me. Lewis Center knocked off Liberty last night. Westerville North beat Marysville... Has Marysville wrestled either of the Olentangy's?

feel free to correct if there are any errors, but I think this is how the final standings shook out for us.
I'm 93% sure on the standings, but only 87% sure on the records.

    OCC-Central
    1. Davidson (7-0)
    2. Darby (6-1)
    3. Coffman (5-2)
    4. Kilbourne (4-3)
    5. Upper Arlington (3-4)
    6. Central Crossing (2-5)
    7. Westland (1-6)
    8. Thomas Worthington (0-7)

Tell me this doesn't suck! Instead of going to the Lancaster vs Picktown match I have to watch my 9yr old's indoor soccer game! They are playing girls that are 11 and will probably get beat 20-0! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!!! LOL! LETS GO "THE JACKET'!!!!!!!!!
  • cruiser_96
Is it YOUR daughter? Then no, it doesn't suck. Missing out on the match does, but watching your daughter grow up does not. Not to split hairs... ;)

I'll try to get some updates...

So, Straughter (103), Chang (112), Syfers (145) and Reed (189) won? Points dont add up though:confused:. I looked up what I could of Raider wrestlers with winning records so far this season.
  • cruiser_96
Straughter or Chang would have had to get through Spearman. A tall task for either. Syfers would have had Strope - unless Strope is staying at 119.
  • Sid
Without results I just went with the data I had at my disposal. But, I would go with Straughter AND Chang beating Spearman! Hey their "Burg" kids...getting/giving a woop...

Straughter lost to Spearman(?) 11-7(?), Chang won by fall, Syfers won, Reed lost! Not a good day for the Raiders, they all looked a little flat!

It happens. They'll bounce back. See you next Wednesday.

These are due to postponed matches.

excellent, thank you for the update/correction (however, I'm writing from the future and i bet dollars to cents this is correct after it's said and done)
