Ryan Hanigan should’ve gotten 1/2 of his contract...

Speaking of Hanigan, I saw on mlbtraderumors that he got cut by the Giants while in AAA and, at about 38 years old, his streak of being in the bigs for his 12th or 13th straight year is probably over, considering he was batting about .150 in the minors.

He was a hell of a defensive catcher.

Jesus that sucks. Had to be one of the front runners for Cy Young candidate.

Contusion turns out to be stress fracture. 10 day DL.

Bauer to DL isn't good but get him healthy for the playoffs.

Tribe off to good start.

They are playing like they really want that Ohio Cup.

He still will be. It’s a 3 man race (4 if you throw in Kluber).

  • Verlander
  • Bauer
  • Sale
  • Kluber

He still will be even with a missed start. Just hope he comes back the same.

...and has anyone ever made fans forget a player that has left a team like Yonder Alonso has made us forget about Carlos Santana? I can’t recall anyone on here even mentioning him since, maybe, April/May?

Dude, I was just thinking about that the other day and then you mention it.

And then JRam beat out his Tribe record for single season homers by a switch hitter.

I wonder what Santana’s number would look like still on Cleveland? His average and power are WAY down. His eye is still impeccable though.

Impeccable.  Hadn't seen nor heard that word in long time.

He was always on top of the league for walks.

Always good to get on base.

Yet, maybe better to swing away.

Bottom line for me......not missed as much as I thought he would be.

Agree, great signing for the contract, except when the Tribe faces a LHP.

Alonso and Santana have similar WAR this year

That's funny because so was I. Haven't looked up Santana's stats but I don't really miss him.

If it's only one missed start. Radio this morning said he could miss up to a month. Hopefully it's just a start.

Yeah, Santana I think is 5th in majors in walks. And singles is the only thing Yonder is better at significantly (average). Same amount power numbers, RBI, etc. Santana on Cleveland I think would be slightly more productive, since it’s a better team but also familiarity. Plus, Santana plays much better defense.

But the main point remains. Yonder has been a great replacement, and because of him, we haven’t been as upset Santana left.

He and Mookie are ridiculous. I still have Mook with a slight slight edge but it’s tight.

I wonder who will stay more focused on the meaningless games the last two weeks of the season? I think that’ll decide it.

I know I am 2 days behind here, but am I the only one that really laughed out loud at the WTF moment on Monday when the Reds pitcher balked?

He went into his windup (runners on 1st and 2nd) and forgot to take the ball out of his glove. He "threw" empty handed. I have seen balks in the majors, but never a pitcher just plain forgetting to take the ball out of their glove and STILL trying to throw it.

Damn, I didn't realize Carlos was doing so poorly for the Phillies.  .214 BA yikes. My buddy is a Phillies fan and he was excited to get him.  I told him that he was nowhere near worth $60M.

With the Astros dropping another one last night, anyone think the Indians can catch them for the 2 seed and home field?

They are only 4 back in the loss column. (5 back in win column) Looking at the schedules down the stretch, I think it is really possible.
