Giving The Masters it's own thread.

I'm taking Rahm to win, with Rickie my reserve option (and sentimental favorite)....nothing better than a lazy Sunday afternoon watching the final day of the "tournament like no other"

I'm not sure who I think will win, but I'd love to see Rory or Rickie win.

I'm in one pool where you pick any 12 golfers and the lowest score wins. I went with:

  • Casey, Paul
  • Fowler, Rickie
  • Johnson, Dustin
  • Koepka, Brooks
  • Kuchar, Matt
  • Matsuyama, Hideki
  • McIlroy, Rory
  • Molinari, Francesco
  • Rose, Justin
  • Spieth, Jordan
  • Stenson, Henrik
  • Watson, Bubba

My fantasy team this week is:

  • Stenson
  • Pepperell
  • Spieth
  • Wallace
  • Kuchar
  • Fowler
  • Molinari

I'm currently watching the Amen Corner feed on masters.com and the 13th is eating people alive right now.

What do you think you would shoot at Augusta from the same tees these guys are playing? I'm guessing I'd be lucky to break 140.

These greens are just absurd.

I don't golf so I'll just go with 198. 11 strokes per hole seems doable.  Im hoping for Tiger to win just so everyone can get their money back on Fanduel.

Finau is spending a lot of time in the bunkers today.

I would say your average "good" golfer who shoots low to mid 70's at their local course would do really well to break 100.

I've had a lot of 1-putts and zero 4-putts so far this year. I can't imagine I'd escape with fewer than 60 putts, and that's probably being generous.

I used to be half decent, 9 handicap – private course; I don’t think I would break 100 there, likely closer to 108, but would sure love to give it a go.

If you’re a good putter who can read a green I think you could do ok. Just given the fact that those green are perfect and roll true. Now... what percentage of weekend golfers fit that bill? Less than 1% I’d say. If you’re a scratch golfer who can read a green I think you could break 100 there.

That did not help my cause.  I do have one entry that is 6 under right now; 3 off the lead.  $13,000 in the pool, so grabbing just a share would be nice.

Scratch golfers are breaking 100 there. Easily. It’s obviously a tough course but they’re not shooting 30 strokes worse than a normal course.

I don't see Woods coming close to leaders, even after a solid first day.

My Father in Law got to play it a few years ago. Not from the Tip, so not sure how much shorter the blues play, but he shot a 92. The thing you have to remember is the course is very scorable. Yeah, it’s tough hilly greens and bad lies. But there is ZERO rough to ever deal with. Wide fairways, and a good shot is rewarded. My FIL is a member ag medinah and usually shoots 80-85 there...but drinks lol. My guess is he would be just over 100 from the Tips. Scratch golfer breaks 90 if they play well.

You bastard. I looked for the hell of it on stub hub and weekend tickets for going for $11K a piece.

Damn, nice. Always wanted to go to Augusta for the masters. Heard they don’t even allow cell phones, food and beer are only a few bucks, and you can set your chair down somewhere and come back an hour or two later and it’ll still be there. Pretty cool

Aren’t they really strict about putting your tickets online? Heard if you win masters tickets and they find your tickets online they ban you from ever coming back

Had a colleague go a few years ago.  She said that the thing that she was really surprised with is concessions.  It's not like all other venues where they price gouge.  She said it was like $1.50 for a ham sandwich.
