Since the sports world is shut down....have you watched anything sports? I assume no one is watching listening to Sportscenter and such.

I watched part 2 and 3 of the Lakers/Celtics 30 for 30. Great watch.

Thats the only thing sports in last 3 days though.

List any sports stuff you watch during this pandemic.

I don’t watch anything but live sports, so I haven’t seen anything since cancelled. Watching a bit of news, but mostly Prime, Netflix and HBO/Showtime.

Doesn’t NFL free agency start this week? That can still go on right? That should give the networks something to talk about.

Golf back in Mid-June (presumably, if possible). No Open Championship, but a loaded 5 months for the golf schedule with everything else rearranged. Masters in November.

Watched the final minute of 2016 NCAA title game where Jenkins hit the game winner for Villanova over UNC

Also rewatched Gordon Hayward nearly hit a half court shot in 2010 that would have won Butler the title

MLB shooting for a May start. Don’t see it that fast, but glad these leagues are trying to figure shit out. It can be done if testing gets there in time, and the logistics are figured out.

Question becomes if someone tests positive, do they shut it down or does team have to go 14-20 days while that player(s) quarantined??

I read where they will have expanded rosters to quarantine that one player. They’re hoping to have rapid tests that can test people within minutes, to know the rest of the team don’t have it. I’m skeptical, but would love for it to happen.

Given the incubation period, it won't do any good to quarantine one player after they test positive or have symptoms. They will have already spread it to at least a few other players.

Edit: it could work if they did a rapid test on everyone daily, I suppose.

It would suck for families, but I say you keep teams together, only with each other, and keep them isolated.  You modify the game however you need to.  Not to ruin its integrity, but to just play by our current societal rules.  Like - everyone wears a mask.  Might be stupid, but if everyone is out there doing it, it is no more of a hindrance to one than it is the other.

I am skeptical the MLBPA passes this. 4+ months away from family is a lot to sign up for. But if you need the money...

That's the thing.  You're contracted.  Military enlistees don't really want to be away from family for years on end, but they signed the contract.  Maybe let MLB players sign an amended contract?

They aren’t yet. They would have to sign off on that and pass a vote. I’m skeptical they do so. Their contracts are likely very detailed and this would violate 99% of them

MLS is currently at a mid-May start date, but they're preparing for a mid-June date. Germany has restarted small-group training.

From what I've heard, at least May through July could be closed-door play for all sports.

It's gonna be real sad if I ever get so desperate for sports that I find myself reduced to watching our minor league style of soccer populated by no-names and old dudes playing out the string somewhere where the quality is low enough they still are viable talent.

MLS is incredibly entertaining if you don’t mind watching “non-world class” players. Fast paced, high scoring, little defense. It’s a lot like the Dutch league.

All that said, we do have some in their prime world class guys, and the league has gotten much, much better over the years. They need to continue to put teams in places where pro sports are at 0-2 teams and not 3-6. Those places have done extremely well.
