It's gonna be real sad if I ever get so desperate for sports that I find myself reduced to watching our minor league style of soccer populated by no-names and old dudes playing out the string somewhere where the quality is low enough they still are viable talent.

I would one up that statement by just saying soccer............

Watching the Cal Ripken 2131 game on ESPN....the HR and the 22 min standing ovation/circle the fence....incredible. And windy Berman called it perfectly, he didn’t say a word the entire 22 minutes.

They probably turned his mic off....

I get it was a huge accomplishment, but I never bought into the hype as i do other records for some reason.

No they didn’t. He handled it with perfection. The replay was exactly the same as the original showing. I’ve heard him interviewed before saying that moment needed nothing said. The crowd did the speaking. His schtick ran it’s course and he’s irritating with all the names and the HR Derby calls....but Berman can do a really good job at tribute style things.

Watched the documentary covering the Pittsburgh Penguins from start (late ‘60’s) to finish.  It was exceedingly well done. What a story!

Last night watched Ali defeat Spinks in ’78 in 15 rounds, and then Tyson KO Trevor Burbick in round 2.

Couple of other good bouts to watch:

Mancini - Frias

Hagler - Hearns

Ya homeboy Bob Sura from the Cavs was in this. When/if the season resumes and the first time the Cavs win the party is at his house.

I saw some insane Kareem pics on blocks on twitter the other day. They were crazy.

Skyhook79. Remember that dude?

I really think I taught with his wife. Not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure. A funny and goofy guy. He was fine but he was crazy on here lol. Wilt and his 50 inch vertical.

Rewatching the 2007 eastern finals game between Lebron and the Pistons. It’s unbelievable how fucking miserable everyone on that Cavs team was besides him.

Seemed to be the inspiration for Footwedge in that they both tried to be this in-your-face "I know MOAR sports than you!!!!", but were both so stupid, it was impossible to do anything but laugh at them, as I recall.

Think it was the 30 on 30 with Deion Sanders and had a big section of his fued with McCarver.

I remember those Braves teams and Sanders and when he threw that water on McCarver.     He and the other announcer was always suck dicks towards Sanders in criticizing him.

McCarver always talked down to the viewers and man I hated him.

Anyone who is NOT pumped, is not anyone I care to associate with.

Last Dance was really enjoyable.  It was fun to remember back to that time.  MJ was such an incredible force of nature.  I wish the next episodes were available sooner.

Couldn't find a place to put this and didn't want to start a new thread but is there really going to be a Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield 3 with both men in their 50's?

I saw a video of Tyson and just assumed he was working out and not actually training for a fight.  But, wow, did he look fast.  Makes you wonder how unbelievably fast he must have been in his prime.  I'm sure he's probably broke again and figures he's still enough of a draw, even as a curiosity, to get a million or two for a fight.  I'd watch, though doubt I'd shell out very much for a PPV.

Really enjoyed the UFC last week.  Some great fights.
