Not even bother putting a tear in this. No clue when the season will start, or how it will look.

Wish Christmas Day could happen, but sounds like MLK Day is a more realistic starting point.

Not the greatest FA class, especially when AD is 99.9% staying in LA.

Can’t figure out how/if you can move this to Sports. Oh well.

I'll move it in the database once I get a chance.

How many games are we guessing for next season? 50? 60?

Be nice if they started early January. Maybe condense playoffs to 1st rd best of 3, 2nd rd best of 5 but regardless just hope they get something formidable in WITH FANS

Who else will Lakers go after?

I think, like the adjusted schedule they wanted but we’re finally forced into, they take this chance to lower the games to like 75 or so. Eliminate back to backs completely. But I think whatever they do, it will stick moving forward. If they stay with 82, I don’t see them not doing 82 this year as well.

As for Lakers, will have to see how the cap ends up. And if AD opts in or opts out (and then resigns long-term). But I’d assume KCP and maybe Rondo are the only guys they will 100% try and keep. But not sure on contracts of others, either.

In case we forget how damn big LeBron is

And we back. Just under 7 weeks. December 22nd start date just approved.

My guess is we don’t see much of LeBron and AD together, Kawhi/PG, Denver’s guys, etc. That’s a quick turnaround for anyone who went deep in the bubble.

I get the anger for teams that went deep. But what about the teams who haven’t played in 9 months? They have to play if they want to make any kind of money. I don’t know that any other option was really viable.

That said, the league has to rescind the player resting rules for the season. And probably the drug testing as well (players were not tested in Orlando...that is likely for this season)

I often reference Simmons and Russillo’s podcast and they talked about this the other day. This was pretty quick (but then again you have a third of the league who haven’t played since March) but even with this start date they’re still losing out on billions for the upcoming season.

Someone in the Lakers organization was telling me the Escrow for the players portion of the money is likely to be slashed as well. Especially if they don’t start quickly. Basically, a portion of players cut is based on perceived revenue put into escrow. Well...if that falls short, they now make less because they won’t get paid out on the escrow. So a $50M contract could lose $5M. I forget the percentage of money that goes to escrow, but think it’s 10%.

Lakers getting Schroder for the 28th pick and Danny Green.

I’ll take it.

Thunder needed another first round pick. They only have a hundred of them over the next few years.

That seems like a steal. What’s his contract look like? Wes Mathews also looking to be a Laker signing.

Wondering what an old vet like LeBron does the next 6-8 weeks after he’s done.....

Crazy quick turnaround but they can adjust this one time I feel

He’s already said it’s ADs team until February lol. My guess is he plays here and there, but not much. They hunted that 1-seed last season, but this season probably satisfied with a top-4.

Saw some rumblings of Brooklyn wanting to trade for Harden but keeping Durant and Irving. That’d be.....interesting.

The odds I’d give of that succeeding

They would need 4 basketballs on the court to keep everyone happy.

Laley your picture didn’t show up for me. Could be a problem on my end but regardless I’ll assume you give it 0%. Which I do as well but it’d be fun to watch.

That doesn’t “feel” like LeBron....that’s likely what he feels, likely what he knows is probably best....but I don’t think he’ll be able to sit back much. Too many things he’s shooting for in his career.

I think he plays decently more than expected....but if he doesn’t he’s sure as hell earned it

Few players in NBA history have logged more career minutes on the court when considering regular season and playoffs

I think if they struggle he’ll come back. But if they are maintaining enough, he’ll just play to stay in game form/shape.

He kinda did that with the Cavs in his final season.  He gave 0 fucks about the seed.   If the NBA has the same bubble format, there is really no reason to fight for the #1 seed other than matching up against a shitty first round opponent.  Even if they don't have a bubble format, there most likely won't be full arenas creating that much of a home court advantage.

Chris Paul traded to Phoenix.

James Harden to Brooklyn picking up steam...
