“What a night. You can’t deny the talent. You can’t deny what he is able to do. He showed that tonight. It was his coming out party,” said coach Hue Jackson.

“That boy’s a baller, man. There’s nothing to say but he’s a winner,” said receiver Rashard Higgins.

“He’s confident. He’s always fired up,” said receiver Antonio Callaway.

“He’s special. He’s really special,” said receiver Jarvis Landry.

“Cleveland deserves a win, but we are not done yet,” Mayfield said. “Don’t break the Dilly Dilly coolers too hard. Just enjoy it. We deserve it, but at the same time, we’re just getting started.”

These comments show me there's a confidence in at least one of these guys among his teammates.

^^^ no Tyrod

I doubt it happens but with his 2 sacks last night, Myles Garrett is on pace for 21 sacks.

Also the play calling magically looked better, hmm...

Also, Hue is a fucking idiot if he has to think twice about it.   My guess he is too much of a pussy to tell Tyrod he isn't starting.  I don't think Baker is going to make us do cartwheels every game, and the Browns are def not a playoff team. At this point you might as well let him get game experience for something to build on for next year.  You sure as hell are not building on Tyrod.

I never understood why you guys believe this other than "because Browns." The division is one of the worst in football, although gun to my head I'd guess eventually (unfortunately) Baltimore/Pittsburgh figure it out and Cincinnati staggers. Cleveland finally looks like decent this year. Wasn't it the QB/K that held you back from being 3-0, and those have been potentially fixed?

If Cleveland were in the NFC I'd agree, but the AFC, especially the north, is so wide open. IMO just about anyone has a chance.

I am glad to see you are finally coming around on Myles.

I can't completely disagree with this. They have a punchers chance against any team in this division. Pittsburgh will likely figure it out but the next time they face, It will likely be Mayfield and I don't see the Steelers secondary getting better. I also don't see TJ Watt going off for 4 sacks. Baltimore is Baltimore...."meh" offensively and their defense is getting old. Cincy is the team to watch. They could very well regress to the mean but that front 7 on their defense is legit.

Looking at what's left on their schedule, assuming Baker's still the QB, I can see 7-8 more wins if the defense continues it's trend.

I know it's bad to hope for injuries, but deep down I bet he was somewhat relieved the decision was made for him.  No doubt he is too much of a puss to make that call (replacing Tyrod with Baker) on his own.  Everyone says he is a player coach, but he takes it too far imo, where he is hesitant to make these type of decisions in fear of hurting feelz.

I totally agree.

TT was 1 for 11 on passes past the LOS last night, he's a fucking bum. Baker isn't. Baker for starting from here on out.

If Hue wants any chance of keeping his job, Baker's the guy. Starting TT at this point is a suicide mission.

TT isn’t the starter anymore. That’s just Hue being Hue with the “we have to watch the tape” bs.

I think it’s more of a respect thing to tyrod. He’s a well liked guy and respected, you don’t go in the press conference after the game saying baker is the starter. I think hue handled that properly and he can tell tyrod and baker in private Monday. We all know Baker is going to be the starter

Agreed...he handled the post game PC appropriately....he can't say that publicly before having a chance to sit down and talk with both of them and then notify the rest of the team

Uhh, no.

Vikings coach after the GB game, when asked about why they released the rookie kicker, said, "Did you watch yesterday's game?"

That's the kind of coach I want. Not some sensitive head coach that doesn't want to get a players' feelz hurt.

So that is talking about an ex player that is no longer on the team....lets try finding an apples to apples comparison....
