Question #181 (I like this one)

From 1920-1929 Babe Ruth hit 217 more HR than the next closest player....only 3 other players in MLB history have hit 80+ more HR than any other player over any 10 year span.

Name those 3 players

Bonds

Aaron seems like a good answer.

Bonds probably played with too much power.

Greenberg? Mays? Williams?

Bonds

I think Thome gets Bonds at the end run he had, and Griffey probably had the most during the start of Bonds career. I could be wrong, but seems like there was too much power throughout baseball from 1990-current for anyone to be 80 ahead over a 10 year period.

So naturally, all 3 answers are probably that.

Jimmie Foxx? Babe was done, Gehrig only about half the time. Greenberg has too many years at war (dumb early guess). Williams started later...

He got to 67 from 1999-08 or 2000-09....one of them.

Sosa was in his way early and Pujols kept him from later....Thome was in the way one year late before Pujols did.

Not a question but from 1992-1995 Tony Gwynn hit .358, next closest was Edgar Martinez at .325.......Don Mattingly was 43rd at .292 but he was as close to Edgar as Edgar was to Gwynn
