Question #161:

In the last 50 years, there have only been three players to pull off a streak of 60+ games reaching base on either a hit, walk, or HBP.

Two of them are not in the Hall: Orlando Cabrera (63 games) and Mark McGwire (61).

Who is the lone HOF slugger to join them?

OC a bad OB% guy....that’s funny

Let’s start with Frank Thomas, Jeff Bagwell, Rod Carew and George Brett

Bingo.   Between July 28, 2002 and April 5, 2003.  Thome was on base via walk, hit, or HBP in every game.

On this day in 1991 Nolan Ryan throws his 7th no hitter and Rickey Henderson broke Lou Brocks career SB record.

Longevity GOATs are linked.

I think Rickey was Nolan’s 5000th strikeout

7 no-nos.  That's outrageous.

No-hitter leader: Nolan Ryan (7)
One-hitter leader: Nolan Ryan (13)
Two-hitter leader: Nolan Ryan (18)
Three-hitter leader: Nolan Ryan (30)

Oh BTW...no hitter #7 came against the Blue Jays who would win the next 2 WS. Alomar, Joe Carter, Olerud, Gruber etc.....and he struck out 16

And.....he was FORTY FOUR years old.

All I’m gathering is that the Ryan Express was ahead of his time regarding steroid usage.

That, or I have to believe he has about as much motion in his arm today as John McCain did.

I can't fathom the amount of damage it had to have done.  A starting power pitcher for that long?

Question #162:

This pitcher amassed double digit wins every single year he was a starter. Had over 200 wins and over 1800 strikeouts. 11x sub 4.00 ERA (including career), and led league in IP 2x. Yet he only received CYA votes in 1 year of his career.

Also apologize if this fits multiple pitchers, but pretty specific so doubt it.

“When he was a starter”

Aguilera didn’t start long enough to get 200 wins

Yep. Great guess. Such an underrated career, especially considering he had team success. Eligible for HOF next year, and a 57 WAR, I’m curious how much support he garners.

I despised him. But that’s mostly because he was a division rival lol.

Question #160

This player lasted 15 seasons and amassed over 2000 career hits. Once had 54 doubles in a season.

Never top 25 MVP voting and 1x all-star. Won a gold glove but at age 36!

Name this player
