you can slow mo it and see his ridiculous gather, take off, rim kiss and land OB
Who the hell jumps off of two feet on a fast break like that? Lol
Wait wait wait...THAT is what you are impressed by? Of all the things this kid does? A. He wasn’t 11’ away. He was like 6’ maybe. The semi circle extends 4’ from the middle of the rim and he was about 2 feet from that. And landing on the baseline under the basket is about the most common place for anyone who dunks. Hell, that’s where you want on a breakaway layup.
Jumping off 2 feet is always impressive to me though.
Looks to me like he leapt from half court...

Yeah jumping off of one foot they might land there commonly....not a lot of folks long jump off of two feet though

Disagree. But that’s fine. I’ve seen 10 plays this year that were more awe inspiring and the season is 5 days old.
Justin Smith had a similar dunk to this for Indiana, but only like a foot outside the circle. He would’ve landed well beyond the end line, but used the rim to spin back around.
It takes a special kind of athlete to get that kind of hop and acceleration off two feet, and Zion (and Smith) are 2 of the most gifted in basketball. But both have done way more incredible things on the court.
I can do it.

Pics or it didn’t happen.

That’s fine laley...it wasn’t the distance I first thought but I have slowed that video down 10x and screenshot where he took off and 6’ maybe is not accurate either. I cannot get screenshot to post on this sumbitch new format Justin designed but it’s not 6 feet...way more than 24 inches between his takeoff and that 4 foot line and where his head was he had several more feet if needed to flush it down.
I got a bit excited I agree and 11 ft was not accurate. He’s one of those athletes that can do stuff that makes you shake your head in disbelief at a greater rate than we are used too....I love those guys. I was shocked of his ball handling, outside jumper, passing and finesse around the rim.....he’s going to rock some serious highlights and I apparently will over play them some 🤷🏻♂️

Zion had a dunk. It was a little more than just scraping over the rim but still a dunk. He didn’t take off from very far away.

Bout 6’? Wrists barely get to the rim? 1-foot off a running start? Lol

Yeah pretty much lol
SC just froze it and had both his hands at 12’4 in the air and then freeze framed the dunk that LeBron does with Zion and LeBron side by side.
Dude is shooting 82% thru 3 games lol
Is there a point where these kids kinda fake an injury a bit and just sit out as to not risk getting their big pay? Barrett playing in college is just a waste.
Great night for B1G. UofM and Indiana both win, and both were absolute beatdowns.
Michigan over #8 Villanova and Indiana over #24 Marquette, both by around 30. Conference as a whole has been great. Only 2 losses, Michigan State vs #2 Kansas and Illinois vs Georgetown.
I hate saying this, but I'm really liking Michigan right now. They are my early pick for conference champs. I reffed Zavier Simpson quite a few times in HS (both LCC & LSR), so it is really fun watching him excel.
Hot take: duke won’t lose a game this year

actually, I had LS a few times at our gym, and I thought he was an asshole--so I could give a rat's ass how he does

hard to do...but I like their chances. They wont lose next year when they all come back. wink wink
I don’t think this is the typical #2 seed 24-8 Duke team....but no way are they not going to lose 3-4 games. They’ll go on the road in the ACC and face a hot team that gets a few breaks, plays more physically and Duke’s shots not dropping
But those 3 are all better than I anticipated (Zion WAAAAAAAYYYY better than I thought) and they have been very fun to watch.
Hoping for about a 30-3

They struggled against Army for 20 min. Army obviously will never have enough to play a full 40 with them. Carolina, FSU, Virginia are all fully capable of beating them.

He is a definite asshole. But in that particular culture (city league, elite bball culture), 90% of the athletes are. I overlook it, I guess.
