Damn
Damn
Wow indeed
Colts screwed up that dude's career like the Browns screwed up Tim Couch's.
Probably a smart decision. Get out now and he can probably still walk when he's 50.

...and have no CTE issues as well
WTF is wrong with the Colts fans??? I cannot believe they booed him like that. Embarrassing action on their part.
They are the worst fans in my book now, not that anyone cares.

Hate the Colts. That franchise was the first domino to fall in the Browns relocating.
I'd think this might open up a playoff spot as many had the Colts in the playoffs.

Meh...I think they were booing the timing of Luck’s decision more than him personally. After all, the season is two weeks away, and he’s literally leaving them high and dry.

Booing a guy for making a decision that has an impact on his longterm health is low class no matter how you slice it.

You have no idea if they knew the whole story at the time, as it broke while they were playing. Assuming the worse is an all to familiar trait nowadays, no matter how YOU slice it.

No excuse for booing him off the field. Like it was some easy decision for him. People suck.

Any reasonable person would assume he was retiring for health reasons, given his history. You can defend the idiots all you want, and all-caps any word you choose, but it's still a bad look for Indy fans.

I don't think they're as bad as the Raptors fans cheering Durant's injury. I can understand the frustration. Their playoff-possible season is over before it starts. But I do agree it's classless to boo a guy who's trying to do what's best for himself and his family.
I don't blame him for walking away from the grind, either. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened more and more.
Too bad, he was fun to watch and seemed like an all-around good guy and player. I hope he stays within the game somehow. Not sure what his future on TV would be as he talks like his mouth is full of peanut butter.
I can respect his decision. The timing may look bad, but maybe he’d have been unavailable a lot this year due to injury anyway. He’s probably saving himself a lot of misery later in life.
He certainly doesnt owe fans anything. Too bad he had to hear boos. Frankly that same thing would have happened in a lot of NFL stadiums as football fans can be drunk and rough. In the long run, those people make no difference.

This. Fans are fucking stupid. Everywhere. This week, enter the Colts.
Yeah Doug Gottlieb can fuck off. I have no idea how anyone listens to that tool.
Just on a somewhat related note - Bruce Arians pretty much destroyed [physically] every QB he had everywhere he went. Except one.
The only thing about this that's pretty dicky on Luck's part is that apparently he's been discussing retirement with the Colts since March. When you start talking about retirement, a lot of times you're already mentally retired...unless you're a drama queen like Roethlisberger. Granted, that should've been a red flag to the Colts to put together a contingency plan.

To assume anything of the sort when talking about any fan base is just plain ignorant, given their (fan bases in general) history. I'm not defending the idiots, just defending the situation, at that specific time. Please be aware of the entire timeline in which this story broke, and don't just take the booing out of context. As Golic, Sr mentioned this morning, most of these people who booed probably felt like idiots once they realized why he was retiring, but the fact remains it was a dick move to do it now. This wasn't a knee jerk reaction to a new injury, it's was something he's been contemplating this for a while. Know the facts before you condemn a fan base (and fwiw, I'm a Browns fan, so I have no love for the Colts whatsoever). Thank you.
Colts aren't going to force Luck to forfeit the 25M remaining on his contract (I think I read that correctly). Good for them.
A dick move lol

least they could do after how badly they managed his injury.
