Continuing yet another long running thread.
I finished Come and Take It: The Gun Printer's Guide to Thinking Free, it was an interesting book.
I'm about half way through The Creature from Jekyll Island, I'm enjoying it so far. It's pretty conspiratorial, but there is a lot of good information on general banking and money as well.
I'm going to start on the first Dark Tower book from Stephen King next.

I loved the Dark Tower series. The Gunslinger, the first book, is still my favorite, of the group. It is a massive read for all of them. But, if you like King, you will like the series as it mixes in everything from his different styles of writing.
I haven't that much time to read lately, as I have been reading transportation documents and studies for work, but I started reading the Road by Cormac McCarthy. I am just a few pages in, but like it so far. I have right behind it No Country for Old Men.

The Road is a great book.
Finished it last night. Agreed, a great book.
I forgot it was also a movie. I'll probably check that out as well.

The movie was decent, not nearly as good as the book, but worth a watch I think.
I'm about halfway through The Gunslinger, they just made it to the mountains. Great book so far, looking forward to see where this story is going.

Before starting this and reading the prologue and author notes, I had no idea how old the book was and how long it took him to finish the series.

I had this on my shelf for a while and been meaning to finally devote the time to it: Bill Simmons' The Book of Basketball. I'm about 60 pages into the 700 page monster. I like it so far.

Wow...jumping right into the deep end. I've tried to read Ulysses a few times and I can't get very far. It's above my pay grade. Good luck.

I'm almost finished with The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three. I like it a bit better than the first book. I am listening to the audiobook version and the narrator sounds just like Mac's dad from It's Always Sunny.
I also started one of the books my mom got me for Christmas today, it's called A Year in the Wilderness: Bearing Witness in the Boundary Waters. It was written by a couple that spent an entire year living in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota. Pretty interesting so far.

Finished The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three yesterday and enjoyed it very much. Can't wait to start on the next one.
I ended up reading 58 books in 2017, up from 53 in 2016.

Yeah, the middle ones are very good.
I finished Bill Simmons 700 page Book of Basketball this morning. I am a Simmons fan, so I didn't mind all the pop culture references or long form style. I liked the book and thought it was full of great info. I like the pyramid and ranking of players. Overall, a good read, even if it is a little dated. (Published 8 years ago)
I just started the already infamous Fire and Fury. I know some of it may be a stretch, and to take it with a grain of salt, but still, worth a read in my view.
