Bowl games not part of the CFP playoff have become absolutely pointless.  They are like watching spring intrasquad scrimmages.

I have personally felt this way for years, outside of gambling. Back to the BCS days.

As long as I'm entertained, that's all that matters to me. And a lot of the games have at least been entertaining to some degree, which is all that matters to me considering the NFL is only on for so many hours a week. I mean, right now, CBB is mainly just having meaningless non-conference mismatch-on-paper games and the NBA and NHL have virtually meaningless regular seasons due to the combination of 80+ games ending with virtually every team with anything remotely resembling a pulse making the postseason.

But most bowl games haven't been exactly meaningful under any situation. Whether you're talking 2022 or 1982, there's only so much excitement that can naturally be generated from an 8-4 B1G also-ran taking on an 8-4 SEC also-ran. You just hope for a fun game that you (and friends, assuming you have) can toss back some beers and enjoy watching. You can point at the sheer number of them, the playoffs or the opt-outs as things taking away from their meaningfulness, but it's not like the vast majority of them over the years have had much purpose other than pride.

I think that they are too spread out now too. I'm not going to watch some bad game on a random Wednesday night. If they put most of them back on new years, I will probably at least flip through the games on the holiday.

Well my kid has been on the tv 4x so far in the first half….so even though Pitt is missing 5 starters (including a top 15 pick defensive tackle)….I’m interested 😁

But I pretty much agree

I know they wouldn't have them on if people weren't watching.  But man, what awful stuff.

Clemson Holy He’ll

1st Half

Missed 3 FG

Unsuccessful fake FG attempt

QB runs out the clock on the 15 yard line instead of FG opportunity.

Down 14-3….should probably be up 15-14

K State regrets calling a TO to try to get the ball back when Alabama was 2nd down inside their own 5 with 50 sec left with TOs left.

Moronic. They don’t call that timeout it’s 14-10 at half

If you are being aggressive to get the ball back it means you somewhat trust your defense….so kick the FG and make it 14-13 and trust your defense with 1:00 left to hold them or hold to a FG.

Resembles the Pitt/UCLA game yesterday (high level obviously)….Pitt took the field goals.

The most important thing for me in the 2022 bowl season happened last night with the Kings of Ohio beating Wyoming! With the minor side effect of that inspiring me to celebrate until 4:30 a.m. and now having to turn things around for another bit of all-night partying.

But that was one hell of a great catch in OT to win the damn thing!

We’re you partying with the announcers during the game by chance?

Pathetic attempt by Michigan to try to convert 4th and goal at the 2 after a time out to get it straight!

I didn’t watch the whole game but watched the highlights, thought the barstool concept was interesting.

Michigan… interesting 4th down call…

Michigan can lose by 80, don’t care but I’m so tired of not taking the 3 points when it’s right there. Michigan doesn’t trust their defense???

Not enough mustard on the out throw and not enough lead of the receiver to foil the route jumper from getting a pick 6.

Has anyone successfully ran that Philly Special play since the Eagles did almost five years ago? I feel like I’ve seen it numerous times since and always end up failing.

When you gain possession of a pass inbounds when you are already down, aren't you supposed to spot it where possession was gained?  And not, were you were when your bady was dow n before the catch.  I think UM was robbed of a TD!
