First, what a sick and demented individual. But, moving past that and onto the coverage...how has this not surpassed the PSU stuff? It’s barely a ripple compared to Penn St., and at the very least is equal to, more likely worse.

Pretty sad that because it’s gymnastics and not Division 1 football it doesn’t get the coverage that it “deserves”.

You answered your own question. It's women and gymnastics instead of boys and football.

But yeah. Fuck that dude.

Haven'tfollowed it much but has there been the supposed cover up thst we saw at PSU?

But yeah, gymnastic and it did not include an iconic coach is why it's not as big.

Plus I think people have a little bit of fatigue on the subject

Absolute trash. It's a shame the media and sponsors haven't followed suit in making a stink.

Everyone should read this to get an idea of just how deep it went and how many people were involved/aided this. The list is crazy. Police officers, East Lansing gymnastics club coaches, MSU college of medicine employees, athletic trainers, and even the dean of the college. Everyone at Karolyi Ranch. USA gymnastics. Nassar even manipulated parents to remain silent when they accused him of it.

Even sadder part is....he's a medical doc.  Very replaceable.  If you had a hint something was improper, he's gone tomorrow.

But I think the key was he is that he was a master manipulator - probably seemed very honest, sincere and convincing.  Still, dealing with kids there's 0 tolerance and it's beyond shocking what went on.

I don't really want to expain it or guess....but I assume by the time those around him knew there was a serious problem, they felt complicit and guilty.  I thnk the guilt and denial are why you don't fire him or go to the authorities - you have to believe nothing happened to sleep at night.

i don't know about worse. sandusky literally setup a charity so he could exploit vulnerable kids.

i mean they're both dispicable, but sandusky put in a little more work to be a piece of shit.

you'd think the media would be all over it with the high profile athletes coming out, but they might be fatigued a bit from the Hollywood sex scandal stuff

Don’t want to argue which is worse, for obvious reasons. But for clarity, I didn’t mean the human. I meant the institutional cover up and the amount of people, years, amount of girls, etc. Not necessarily Nassar/Sandusky

If you read the article it does serve a medical purpose. It should just be done wearing gloves, with others present, and prior consent given -- none of which Nassar did.

Come on....you know better than that.  You are in medicine.  Young girls need to be penetrated for any reason?????  What possible medical excuse could he use gloves or not?

Doctors interviewed by Outside the Lines say intravaginal and intrarectal treatments have been used for decades to treat medical problems such as pelvic floor dysfunction, which can occur when muscles on the pelvic floor become weak or tight.

Just telling you what the doctors said.

Also, my position in healthcare does not at all qualifiy me to speak on the validitiy of this particular practice. You of all people should know that.

I haven't really followed this but doesn't it seem like MSU actively tried to quiet this? I feel like they did more than PSU did.

No, they did. The president of the university was told a few times. People in positions to stop it were told by the gymnasts quite a few times.

But hey, the president of MSU during all this has done a fuck of a lot of fundraising for the university, so they've already said they're not doing shit about her complicity.

Man, this entire situation is messed up, but I can't get over the fact that he abused these girls with their parents in the room on occasion.

Well he has a 60 year federal sentence for child pornography to serve before his sentence for the abuse starts. Dude is 100% going to die in prison.

MAybe they will give him some extra bed sheets so he can take care of that before we spend millions of tax payer dollars on his incarceration
