I hope to go on a really swell cruise.
We stayed in a cabin in Nebo, NC for four nights, and then stayed in Asheville for two nights. It was equal parts relaxing and fun.
Didn't have time to do a real one, so went to Tybee island for 4 days.
Penn Hills in the the Poconos.
I had just changed jobs, so we did a long weekend at Lake Erie (Sandusky, Put-in-Bay).
Aruba, 2009
Puerta Vallarta. Sept 10th to Sept 15th 2001. Lots of fun not knowing if or when you will be able to get back into the country.

2 weeks in Florida
Week 1 we stayed at the Polynesian resort at Disney—went to the park a few days and other attractions and hen hung out at the pool.
Week 2 we had friends of the family who gave us their condo for the week right on the gulf at Indian Rocks Beach.
Hilton Head Island, SC for a week in 1979.
Beach, pool, golf, tennis, bike riding...it was awesome!
Been back many times over the years as this has been out 'go to' spot for family vacations since.
St. Bart's, French West Indies .............. well before it was discovered by the A-listers .....
Looking at Japan and SE Asia for our honeymoon.
Wow, jelly. Japan is on my list. My friend went between Xmas and NYE. Best snow on the planet.

Japan and Argentina are the next top 2 on my list. We figured since it is our honeymoon we would have more time to make the trip to Japan.

When I was married, our honeymoon was to Savannah and we spent a day at Tybee. Nice little place.
Looking into it now, debating between Scandanavian Countries (Sweeden, Norway, Denmark, Finland), Croatia, or Ireland/Scotland.
I'm leaning towards Scandanavian countries.

Buddy and his wife went to Japan and loved it. Two odd things, try and find some of the scotch places and also try and ride the Maglev.
I've also had two friends that went to Thailand. They also loved it.
For me, my wife and I got married in New Orleans, and just stayed down there for a few days after.
Bora Bora - 2015

What were your thoughts of Bora Bora? I've looked at remote islands but have thought I'd get bored.

I would not go there for a regular vacation. Not nearly enough activity for me. But, for a honeymoon, it was great. No crowds, romantic, great food, drinking and great weather/beaches/water. Just enough activity to keep you entertained till you’re ready to “go” again.
Looking into this now. Not sure where we'll go. want to go somewhere tropical. We just want to sit on a beach for a week. Wanna do somewhere in Mexico but don't want to get kidnapped. Punta Cana sounds great but my fiance' would get roasted by the sun (she burns easily). Bora Bora is interesting, I didn't look into that yet.

Doesn't Bora Bora present the same issues (the sun)?

Highly recommend Aruba or Turks and Caicos. I've been in February and the weather is fantastic. Both have amazing beaches and a ton of activities.

I’ll look at those. Thanks!
Outer Banks. Very relaxing.
