I'll be there in 10 days. Will advise.

Bora Bora and the Maldives, while beautiful, does not seem like a place I'd want to go for the money and also the long travel time. It's outrageous.

But with your wife fresh of the chaos of getting married, I'm sure it's great.

want to go somewhere tropical. We just want to sit on a beach for a week. Wanna do somewhere in Mexico but don't want to get kidnapped. Punta Cana sounds great but my fiance' would get roasted by the sun (she burns easily). Bora Bora is interesting, I didn't look into that yet.

Bora Bora/ Maldives would add shit tons to the budget.  The year after our wedding we did an all inclusvie in Punta Cana. It was fun, but if you do any all inclusive, make sure you do adults only. You will definitely get burnt unless you lather sunscreen on or sit in the shade. Europe would be a good time, finding someplace tropical but out of the sun could be tough, maybe Costa Rica/ other jungle type tropical?

Not really trying to stay out of the sun completely. Just remember going to punta  Cana when I was younger and we all got roasted by the sun. She’s a pale skin Irish woman, so if we do something like that it’ll have to be a place where we can spend a day or three doing something away from th sun (for the most part).

Im really liking the Turks and Caicos idea. I looked into it last night and it seemed like a really nice spot and very affordable.

Bora Bora flights are ridiculous. Thankfully I had enough miles for us to go on Air Tahiti (American partner). Then I switched to Delta when I moved down to NC.

I know you seemed not into Mexico, but check out Tulum. Lots of non beach frying stuff to do. Cenotes, ancient ruins, snorkling, etc.

We did an all-inclusive there 6 or 7 years ago and enjoyed it.

I was in Aruba and Curaçao last week and both were fine, but they're in the Southern Caribbean. Grand Turk showed some signs of hurricane damage (damaged roofs), but nothing extreme. The beaches and water were still the prettiest I've ever seen.
