If Saint Peters beats UNC tonight your son has to go there. Deal?

COA would probably come back and bust my bandwagon chops

The test optional piece was a key point at UK and very clear cut everywhere else we looked.

To me scoring high on those tests knowing they missed 1/3 of their sophomore year and portions of their junior year and still scored super high seems to me it would actually weigh more. Nope

When I graduated from high school, OSU took anybody from Ohio if you filled out the paperwork in time. that is where I went. I was also accepted to UC but was turned down by Duke.

How was their program?  Was that you in the TV commercial?

Wow, thanks have changed.  I took the ACT in 1976 to go to Ohio State.  I thought I scored a 17, and the max you could get then was a a 24.  It was good enough for OSU, lol.  They were taking everybody back then.

No, that wasn't me in the commercial, but it was a good buddy of mine. He's actually the reason I chose SNHU. The program is pretty standard for online universities (weekly discussions with normal coursework). I genuinley felt like I learned quite a bit.

Admitted to Columbia but not Case…wow.  I knew Case was selective but I didn’t realize it was to that level.

Case was contacting him like crazy back in the late fall but he finally told them he wasn’t interested.

Update:

He cashed in with the prestigious Jack Kent Cook Scholarship (only 100 we’re awarded in the United States) and it covers all costs of everything not already covered and has earned a full ride and tuition into University of Pittsburgh Honors College and the Swanson School of Engineering. He also tried out and has been been selected for the Pitt band. I have me a D1 trombone player 😁.

Meanwhile UM keeps emailing and asking for him to reply to choose to be on their waiting list.

UM is still waiting on Bo "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions" Schembechler's first championship.  Guess what - like your son's reply to them - it ain't never coming.

My family visited Charleston, SC last week.  We took one of those horse-drawn carriage rides.  At the beginning, the driver asks everyone their name and where they're from.  Everyone answered with only those two pieces of information EXCEPT one person.  That one individual answered "I'm Rachael, I live in New York and I graduated from the University of Michigan."

Such a typical UM douchebag.

Off topic, but what’d ya do in Chas, eat well? I work in tourism here so always interested in what people think. Ha, the carriage rides are very controversial topic when it’s 100+ degrees.

Haha.  UM did the same thing to me years ago, except they would only admit me off the waitlist if I would commit to going there.

Only an academic administrative official would give a shit about yield ratios.  Someone really should pass a law as the waitlist is an evil thing to subject students to.  Even worse, it's often better students schools are worried losing to high-ranked peers.

No.  But the driver was explaining all of the history as we go through town.  She never said a word until we passed a house with film crews all around.  He said they were filming “Outer Banks” in there.  She lost her shit - “Oh my God!  Oh my God!  Oh my God!  Is Chase Stokes here?  Oh my God!  Can we stop?”

Later she proceeded to tell the entire carriage that she loved Charleston because she was a history buff.  Just after she said that, we were going along the harbor and the driver pointed our Fort Sumter.  “Which war was that from?”, she asked.
