I did fine after my third Pfizer.  I had a headache the next day and felt slightly tired - nothing that affected my day too much.

Probably means your body quickly recognizes it now and creates a quick and powerful reaction.

I kind of wonder if that isn't bullshit so people aren't discouraged by reactions (instead turning it into a positive).  Never heard that about the flu or other vaccines.

I guess you do KNOW it's working, but I'm not sure the degree of reaction, or even none, actually means much.

I have no idea regarding that, but when I was a kid I used to have terrible allergies and got shots regularly.

Every time I got a shot, I would flare up and be absolutely miserable in the waiting room. God, I fucking hated it. The nurses would always say....that's how you know it's working! lol

I'm not a doctor, so I don't know either.  Pure speculation.  In my case, I didn't have a harsh reaction.

Perhaps it isn't.  Maybe they gave me sugar water.

Well, I got my Moderna booster yesterday morning.  By the evening i was shivering from chills and had a decent fever over night.  I didn't get out of bed until 1130 this morning.  Still have slight chills and a headache, but hopefully slowly getting better.

It's weird, because the first two shots I had very mild symptoms.  I figured a half dose of the same shot would not be an issue.

I was pretty down from the booster / flu shot from about 12-48 hours after the shot. I got mine on a Friday night and spent most of the weekend in bed because of it.

Now I have a cold that has been miserable started as a super runny nose now has transitioned to a cough. I got a Covid test and was negative it I heard this is going around.

Of course you are a coin flip. What were you expecting? I am sure there is a vaccine out there that actually keeps you from getting a disease. But that is not how 99% of them work. A vaccine doesn't magically keep someones cough cells from entering your body. You aren't walking around with an invisible forcefield that only activates for certain diseases lol.

You get the vaccine because when you are infected, it fights it off quicker, more effectively, and reduces your risk of symptoms/bad symptoms. All that inherently reduces — significantly — the spread of the virus/disease from you to someone else.

Mrs. Z and I got our Moderna boosters today.  So far, feels exactly like the original shots.  Occasionally feel a tenderness in area, that's it.  My 88 year-old father got his booster yesterday.  He said he has no symptoms, either.

We saw another couple we know in line while we were waiting.  The wife was there for her booster (she's a nurse) but their doctor advised against the husband getting it.  Apparently he developed Bell's palsy after the second shot and his face was paralyzed for two weeks.  Seems to have made a complete recovery, but he said he'll make do without the booster.

I know how the immune system works and what a vaccine is supposed to do.  Either this is not a true vaccine in its definition or its the worst "vaccine" ever made.

Getting the vaccine reduces the risk of serious illness and death from a fairly small number to a number close to zero. Don't know WTF you want it to do.

Take the flu vaccine, for instance.  I haven't had the flu in almost 30 years, but I still get the vaccine because it might help reduce symptoms if I do get the flu.

10 out of 10 people with severe symptoms from Covid (or flu) wish they had gotten vaccinated.

Anyone know anyone vaccinated who's been hospitalized? I don't.

I do have a friend from high school living in Orlando. He was just moved out of ICU yesterday, luckily he's improving. He's 38. Decent health. Unvaxxed.

Guy I know just got out after being hospitalized with pneumonia.  Early 50's, and pretty fit.  I doubt he got vaccinated, and was one of those people convinced he had Covid early back in 2020.  Not sure if he ever got a confirmed test, though.

Basically I'd say he was indifferent, and didn't think he needed the vaccine or that Covid wouldn't be a big deal if he caught it.

I don't think you know any of that.  The vaccine for Covid is actually extremely effective as far as vaccines go.  If you don't want it, fine.  But just because you don't want it doesn't mean it's a "failure".

I’ll still see some at work that are vaccinated but the virus isn’t that bad for them. All of the really sick patients are unvaccinated. Every single one.

Fletch doesn’t know what he’s talking about, but who cares anymore.

Don't worry, he or QQ will find an anecdotal example of the opposite and claim it as the "real" truth.

Father in law...and passed away from it. Now, he was 75, in poor health, and was past six months of his second dose. The booster was not available yet when he passed away.

My step uncle was also vaccinated and was in hospital due with COVID, but he is 68 and has Parkinson's. He is fine now and boosted.

Point being, both are in high risk categories and did not have the booster at the time.

Also, step father was in a part of the state that had low vaccination rates and little to no mask wearing.

Thanks to the unvaxxed, I’ve had my heart valve repair surgery postponed because of the surge and no beds available.  (This is University Hospital in Cleveland).  I was all set to go with plans in place.  And now I’m just a plane on the tarmac waiting for the go……because dumb asses are hogging up the rooms.

“Don’t tell me what to do.  The vax is bad……………oh……help me now…..I think I’m going to die”.

And I know some people who have either died or were seriously in danger because of not being vaxxed.

I’ve been very careful throughout this whole thing. I’m double dosed Moderna with a booster. I mask up when out.

Coulda had this all out of the way. And now I wait.
