Unarmed parents would have done better. No doubt in my mind.

It's pathetic, but you've already failed if you're relying on a police response.

These people need to be prevented from entering schools.  And, in this case, it seems like there was a double point of failure with an outside door being propped open, and then failure to lock/secure the classroom doors.

Is a locked door actually stopping a AR-15 bullet? I have to imagine one shot to the lock area is blowing that up.

Either way, when the police get there, they have to do the job they signed up for and go in and stop. Kids would've died, but from all reports, quite a few of the other kids would've been saved as they were killed in that 77 minute wait.

I'll defer to the gun experts here, but I don't believe so.  AR-15 is a very small caliber bullet - I'm pretty sure a bunch of shots, much less one, aren't "blowing up" the lock.  There's probably at least 10 better ways to get through a locked & reinforced door more quickly and effectively.

A .223 or 5.56 round (2 AR common rounds) are not blowing a decent lock.

However, unless the school windows are made of something better than normal windows (I honestly don’t know if they typically are nowadays or not) nearly any gun will blow through a regular window, AR or not.

So either way, no matter what type of gun (unless some small .22 pea shooter hand gun) an active shooter is getting inside a school through any glass door.

Unless, again, the glass in school doors are made out of some better glass (similar to bullet proof) and I am not aware.

I think this was mentioned in another thread, but the story about the 22 year old who stopped the mall shooting in Indiana is wild. Supposedly within 15 seconds of the shooting the guy shot 10 shots starting 40 yards away (with a pistol) and hit the gunman 8 times as he moved closer. Crazy good accuracy, and took a ton of balls.

There is a leaked photo going around Reddit of the shooter dead on the ground and he has a covid mask on lol

I am a pretty good shot but no WAY I could get 8 out of 10 with a 9mm from that far away.

Well done good Samari

But 10 shots is excessive.  Why not just one shot to the knee if he was that good?

Heard it was a Springfield Hellcat.  That's insanely good with that gun.

Yes, I understand he was getting closer to the target with each shot, but still VERY impressive with almost any hand gun, but especially that one
