Nice try.......here is where you make the difference....Trump won the electoral college....this means that the "Trump" voter is a pretty common American that is normalized in their opinion of how government should be represented.
Pelosi on the other hand isnt electable in any part of the country other than San Fran. Could you imagine her running in Ohio with that type of platform?
Flip side of that is the Ds won the House. So, they would counter that while Trump voter was common in 2016, the D House member was common in 2018. Also, while Trump won the electoral college, he lost the popular vote, and the Ds won the overall House elections by more than 5 Million votes last year.
It is the same argument House Rs made in 2011 after their take over.
Also, I'm sure most Ohio reps would not get elected in San Fran either.
As I said, both sides see they are winning and see no reason on giving in.

The outrage should be placed with the House of Representatives because they have failed to do their jobs over and over again. Both Republicans and Democrats have failed to follow a clear appropriations process for decades. I think the last time all required appropriations measures were passed on time was 1995 and it had been done only 3 times previous to that. They wrote and made the 1974 Congressional Budget Act law and they can't even regularly function by it efficiently.
It's unacceptable that the gatekeepers of the nation's purse strings can't do their jobs. What we get is a bunch of continuing resolutions and omnibus bills......and deadlines to keep the government open which ends up being held hostage by both sides depending on who is in power and what the nature of the political discourse of the day is.
Congress sucks at their job of funding the nation's business and has for decades. This little pissing match is just like all of the other politicized antics tied to funding the nation's business.
This is very true and speaks to nature of the modern Congress.
One could also make the argument that this is not about Trump. If the House and Senate could do their job, they could fund each of the departments outside the wall, and override a Trump veto. But, neither side of the House want that.

Pelosi or Trump
AOC, Maxine, King, Feinstein, etc...
This country has been electing fucking idiots for years, which is why I find it funny when people are shocked that Trump won the election. It was bound to trickle to the white house.

Best post here. I would love to see an constiutional amendment that requires congress to balance the budget and if they don't pass a proper appropriations bill by the end of the fiscal year, it automatically kicks in.

You said "could you imagine pulling the lever for Pelosi". I replied "Pelosi or Trump" because they are the two involved in this topic and I can't imagine pulling the lever for either one.

If you're reaching so far to call someone poking fun at Trump's strange ways of typing messages "TDS", then you're doing a great job of ensuring that term has no actual meaning or relevance. Congrats!
Child please (I forget which player said this all the time)! I was teasing him and he got it, laughed. That's all.

Me too. We both know this will get nowhere.
Of course not, it would be dangerously close to responsible governing.
