Beat me to it haha!

I admit to having some sort of guilty pleasure out of this. Sure, it's a publicity stunt but well done, nonetheless.

Don't try to troll the King of trolls. The troops don't want any VIP there (they have to clean up a ton of shit), and definitely not her. Stop spending money on this stupid shit all of the time.

"I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown," Mr Trump wrote.

"Obviously if you would like to make your journey by flying commercial, that would certainly be your prerogative.

Love it.

Trump's letter is a piece of work too. He misspelled Madam, randomly capitalized shutdown and southern border, and ended it with an exclamation point.

LOL.

I just think it is funny dude can't spell and randomly capitalizes words. The fact he also ends with a "!" is pretty funny too.

Hell, I almost wish he just wrote it in all caps.  I'm surprised he didn't tweet it either.

Trump had previously cancelled his own trip to Davos for the world economic summit due to the shutdown and the need to get a deal done.  Obviously Pelosi did not take a cue from his correct decision.  So, she gets another well-deserved beatdown.  She is getting off to a rough start, all because of her hypocritical stance on a paltry $5 billion for a border security wall.  She really is dumb.

And here is the pro-Trump TDS.

It's hard to be surprised anymore.....but, still, I can't quite process how politics has come down to a game of chicken with the paychecks of 800k people.

There are times when I wonder if this was something that had to happen. Our government has been ridiculous for so long this might be the kick in the pants that people need.

I highly doubt this will lead to a kick in the pants. We have been going down this way for over 10 years. The budget fights of early 2010s have just gotten worse now.  Each side has zero incentive to bargain right now.

Thanks. I stand corrected.
I still think the letter is a piece of work and is a hell of a "owning the libs" moment.

As I have stated many times.......fire them all.  They have no interest in doing what is in the best interests of the American people unless it suits their own selfish interests.

Fire them all and institute term limits on the replacements.

We are being governed by children.

I'm watching a friend who works for the federal government and not getting paid and run back and forth to Cincinnati because his 1 year old daughter is rejecting her liver transplant, and he doesn't have any money coming in. So for him and most of the 800k, it's not very amusing watching the president be immature.

The outrage should be placed with the House of Representatives because they have failed to do their jobs over and over again.  Both Republicans and Democrats have failed to follow a clear appropriations process for decades.  I think the last time all required appropriations measures were passed on time was 1995 and it had been done only 3 times previous to that.  They wrote and made the 1974 Congressional Budget Act law and they can't even regularly function by it efficiently.

It's unacceptable that the gatekeepers of the nation's purse strings can't do their jobs.  What we get is a bunch of continuing resolutions and omnibus bills......and deadlines to keep the government open which ends up being held hostage by both sides depending on who is in power and what the nature of the political discourse of the day is.

Congress sucks at their job of funding the nation's business and has for decades.  This little pissing match is just like all of the other politicized antics tied to funding the nation's business.

IIRC somebody had posted a vid with a politician stating exactly this. He went on to say that the House habitually passes their jobs on to bureaucracy or lets a president use his executive power - thus not being caught holding the bag themselves. Can't remember the name of the guy, though.
