You do realize that the new trade deal that Mexico was forced into saves $7 billion a year for the US.
Boom....Mexico is paying for something
Are you serious? I assume you’re kidding. If US consumers pay less for Mexican company outputs or Mexican consumers pay more for US company outputs, that is not the country of Mexico paying for a wall.
Just because Trump says something doesn’t make it so. You may want to do a little basic research before parroting his BS.

Illegal immigration is costing us tens of billions of dollars per year, if not over 100 hundred billion. Spending $5 billion for a wall, or even $50 billion, will largely pay for itself in less than one year. The math is simple, but the liberals are interested in only one thing – power.
A prime example of republican math
overstated for the humanitarian tragedy on the south border
understated for defense spending and tac

The air traffic controllers are going to bring this to an end soon.
Rumor on twitter is that Trump will announce today that the government will reopen for a few weeks while they continue to discuss the budget. Trump speaking at 1:30pm

Governor Hogan is a centrist and has done a nice job in liberal Maryland. He runs on bipartisanship and bringing both sides together which you would need to do as a stated "Republican". Of course he ran against a complete goof ball, Ben Jealous last year so he was a shoe in for a second term. I believe he is the only "Republican" governor to ever win a second term in Maryland.
Yeah his voter breakdown last year was fascinating. He pretty much won over every single voting bloc in the state, outside of Baltimore. He is an old school, "kitchen table" Republican. I really like the guy and hopes he takes a run at Trump.

Last I read, the President cannot pass a budget.
Edit Post: But, I do see a Post Report, where the President is caving at least for now. He will not veto a bill passed that does not include wall funding for 30 days.

So, here we are again, kicking the can down the road.
I bet we are back here again at the end of Feb.

Well yea, I think he is endorsing a bill to fund it for a couple of weeks with no wall funding.

I'm listening to Trump...and he is not dropping his wall.
So, even with this short term CR, we will be back here again in 3 weeks. Although, he said he may then declare a National Emergency after that.
Also, this is exactly the spot we were in in December. The Senate passed a clean CR for funding, the R House would not pass it and Trump would not sign it. So, the last 36 days were a waste.
BTW, this speech is a shitshow. Most of it makes no sense and has been proven to be either a lie, fabrication, or lacking evidence.

Yup. Trump is a dipshit. Democrats called his bluff. Either use the Emergency or not, but quit with the games.

oh great and wonderful Trump!!!! Single-handedly ended the shutdown he created!
His greatness knows no bounds!
Haha.
Yes, Trump got pwned. By Nancy and Chuck too. I mean how bad would you feel if those two idiots got over on you do publicly.
Plus, he brought it all upon himself too.
I don’t know what the future holds for his wall, but as for today, he got dominated by two imbiciles. Dominated like the Gimp by Zed.

So you are saying Nancy and Chuck won, and The People lost.
I’m saying Chuck and Nancy made Trump squeal like a pig. As far as “The People” go, they had nothing to benefit from any of these three bozos.
Trump could have used Burt Reynolds and his bow today.

I actually do give Trump credit for at least attempting to get the wall built. It was, after all, a massive campaign promise that he at least tried to deliver on. I remember all those campaign promises Obama made and just ghosted while he was in office. The way Trump went about doing this (waiting for the D's to take over the house so that he can say it was their fault the wall didn't get built) was mind-numbingly stupid. But he at least tried to deliver on a campaign promise--which, I guess, is a positive change.

History goes back further than Obama. Every president has trouble fulfilling campaign promises. This one is bad particularly because of the bravado and audacity he made part of it.

LoL
The people have in poll after poll not supported the wall, and Trump's approval rating are really low, I do not think the people lost.
I'm disappointed in you. I thought you would bring a better defense of Trump.
