So far this administration has been a disaster. Just taking L after L. Even Trump had a few W’s here and there. Sheesh, just embarrassing.

As I've said many times, Congress has the real power. You'd be hard-pressed to come up with much any of the last 4-5 Presidents did that directly impacted you. War is about it. Otherwise they all have similar unremarkable foreign policy "achievements", and domestically they really don't control much, beyond judges and the regulatory agencies.
Federal govt is a joke. That's how you end up with a Rick Perry as energy sec, or Pete Buttigieg as transportation sec when neither had any knowledge or experience in those areas.

Disagree, what Trump was doing was directly affecting almost every American in a positive way. EVERY economic metric was way up.
My federal withholdings went up $150 in the first pay period of 2022. I was told my taxes wouldn’t go up one penny, but it’s looking like I’m going to pay an extra $4000 to the feds this year.

Wait - I'm guessing you got a raise and are blaming Biden for paying more taxes as a result? Very, very QO....well done.
I got a raise months ago. I already had a tax increase then. And then another one to start the year.
I also don’t think my taxes should increase $4k on a $10k raise. I’m not in a new tax bracket.

I'm not aware of any tax changes. Obviously you're withholding would increase with a full year of earnings at the higher salary. But, yeah, 40% doesn't add up.
I think my pay raise went into effect the first pay period of November. I’d have to look back and see what the tax increase was then.

Just make less money man and they won’t take as much. It’s quite simple math.
I went back and looked at the first pay period with my raise, as well as the one before it. My federal withholdings increased by $69 (nice). That's an increase of $1794 for the year, which makes a lot more sense. Tack that on to the most recent increase and the feds are taking $5700 of my $10k raise, which is fucked.

Those numbers make no sense. Worth inquiring to payroll to see if something got messed up. Otherwise, look at increasing your exemptions because it probably should have only gone up according to your marginal rate (well, plus state taxes and ~1-2% for medicare).
Yeah, I'm really hoping it's an issue with our payroll department, because I definitely can't make sense of it.
Looks like you just gave the Feds an interest free loan. You will get your your money back sometime after April 15, 2023. Until then shut up and enjoy da roads.

Exactlt, lol. Justin clearly doesn’t appreciate living in a civilized society and roads.
You mean those things with all the potholes in them?
About the only thing that my taxes seem to go to that I either enjoy or get any use out of is the bike trails and state parks

That’s right. I forgot that you’re a public employee with public benefits bitching about big government. How ironic.

That gets screwed every time. It’s a 40 year job now for no reason but greed by the state. No other public employee has this crap.

You could always go teach at a parochial school for 50 years instead?
