Didn't we all really know when Orrville beat Genoa their fans wouldn't have enough balls, pride, respect or class (whatever you wanna call it) to show up to eat their crow with a tall mug of shut the hell up.

Oh Genoa the mighty one, how we have fallen.

im here orrvillian. what, the fact that you guys had three big plays and thats about it? or that genoa had four turnovers in the first half to trail 8-26. congrats you guys won but not without the help of genoa. genoa's A game wasn't brought til the second half. if we played that way the whole game it would have been a different story. but hey nothing we can do now. best of luck

Today both teams will play there best opponent of the year and both teams will fly around to the football and hit well but here's my honest prediction, Genoa by 21. Orrville is good and we all know that but I think Genoa and Mooney would be a great battle that is how good this Comets team is. Orrville needs to have Chase Hoobler to have a monster game because that is the only the defense that they run will be able to stop the Comets offense because I've seen teams that run the 3-3-5 against power football many times and it struggles mightily against it and Genoa runs the Wing T better than anyone in the state. Orrville I think if they are to have a shot at winning needs to beat them through the air because Genoa's pass D worries me. If Beasacon can get some time in the pocket the Comet D is going to have problems but if Orrville's O-Line gets worn down early it's going to be a long game. Expect a packed house and I don't know about anyone else but I'm really pumped up for this one. Wooo! GO COMETS!!!!
Orrville did everything I said they needed to in order to win this game. Hoobler had a tackle on what it seemed like every play and they threw the ball incredibly well. The bubble screen was just murderous last nite against the Comets D. I wish we would have played the Spread last nite a heck of a lot better though. Blown assignments on every pass play in the first half as there was a receiver that was not being covered by anyone on every play of the game last nite and fumbled handoffs are just unacceptable at this stage of the playoffs. That comeback Genoa had last nite was incredible and gave all of Genoa a nite they will never forget. You guys may have been eliminated earlier than anticipated but you guys are definitely a team that the whole town will never ever forget. Congrats Orrville and good luck next week against a good OG squad

The music and trash talk was hot and heavy before the game....but RV row was a ghost town after the game.

    It was classic.

I noticed a huge flock of birds get up and fly out of Genoa last night a little before 10. The crows must have wanted to get out of town before the RV's got back to begin their feast! Hey Comets, welcome back to Earth. Maybe the "rock star" mentality of some of your players got the best of them. It did seem that Hillabrand was scratching himself quite often last night. Might want to get some powder on that. Sure seems Coach Vicars preaches to those guys about respect, but doesnt do anything about it when they get out of line. Let the excuses roll! Good job Orrville and good luck throughout the playoffs.

I wonder if they cleaned up there bottles and cans.

I've seen better Wing-T's than what Genoa ran. Most notably Keith Wakefield's for the Perry Panthers.
  • Tinkertrain
Genoa fan's can say all they want about their schedule not mattering but it did hurt them badly last night. It was obvious who was prepared for this game last night and who had that look of shock on their faces.

Actually Orrville did something you failed to mention "classyposter58", they literally physically beat the crap out of Genoa and won as a team!

Yes I'll agree with you there but Rossford and Oak Harbor were very good teams when the schedule was made so there's not much we could of done about that and Port Clinton is an annual game. Now I'm not too happy about Northwood because we actually did have a choice between them and Defiance and Defiance would have been a much better game and more points

huh? someone notified Dorkson??? Really??? Pretty cool way to try to spread the word around Wayne/Holmes County :D Wonder who could of contacted him? :D He cant ban anyone. :D

An inferior team that only made three plays and yet they led thee ENTIRE game from start to finish! Go figure the one Genoa poster that does show up is still bragging about how much better Genoa is. Give it up the better team on that day won the game!!! Congrats Riders!

That's what bugged me...I read about prayer meetings and Vicars teaching kids life lessons...but I didnt get that in the way they carried themselves on the field.

I dont want to paint a team on the actions of a few, but REAL faith is shown in times of distress and trouble...as well as when things are going good.

anywho... the following quote is just another typical genoa fan making up EVERY excuse in the book to why a better team beats them. was it that, or was it your kicker missed a PAT, or the intentional grounding etc?? WAKE UP PEOPLE! dont be such sore losers...but classyposter, you DO have class, but about the only shred ive seen from most fans...anyways..heres the said quote for those who forgot...

I find it interesting that you don't think Orrville had any role in creating those turnovers. Genoa didn't just "give" this Orrville team the game, they played hard and fought relentlessly for this win.
  • LetsGoComets
Or maybe it was the fact you had the refs bought and paid for. Was pretty obvious.
  • GCTD64
I would say that was the best game in OH on Saturday!!! Congrats to Orrville on a win! I will say that is IMO the best team Genoa played far and away! However, that MIGHT have been Genoas B game! Did Orrville cause problems YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!! They were full of athletes and they sure hit! BUT.... Genoa had, I believe three, HUGE turnovers. The first one was a strip by King Orrville, #46. Great play by him! BUT............ The other turnovers were just dumb football that Genoa has not done all year! Number two turnover was a audible play from a handoff to a pitch and RB didnt hear the switch. The other one was a good pass that our WR had hit him in the hands and bounced off them right to King Orrville. I will give Orrville all the credit in the world for this win! They came out and played error free football all the way through! But they also got Genoa on there worse game of the year! I dont care what anyone else says this game was an UPSET!!! Genoa should not have loss this game! AND no excuses but I felt the intentional grounding call was beyond pathetic! This however was in no way what won or loss that game, but it sure didnt help us any... Just voicing my opinion about the game. BTW, Orrvilles QB was an awesome leader for his team! Congrats to him as an individual for a great performance.

I am sure I will take some hits for that post but I still would like to wish Orrville good luck next week and wish their seniors who will be graduating and going on to play college ball the best of luck! Cya back in about 12 months ;)

Just admit that you got beat by a better team. Bought the refs? Whats next? The guys broadcasting the game on 99.1 didnt think the refs made bad calls. Grab your ankles and take your whoopin' like a man!;)

"The first one was a strip by King Orrville, #46"

...or a mental error by King Genoa #30?

    Great game riders! Keep rollin!

Yes, the refs were bought and paid for by OHSSA which includes us so yes we did. I believe Genoa is part of that same organization too, you just don't have any of the trophy's they hand out that says CHAMPIONS!
  • Tinkertrain
Here is a descriptive wording of the intentional grounding rule.

    1) Quarterback A1 drops back to pass but is unable to find a receiver
and: (a) throws the ball to the ground, or (b) throws the ball to the
ground in an area only occupied by defensive players, or (C) deliberately
throws the ball clearly out of bounds.

Ruling: Illegal forward pass in (a), (b) and (C). Penalize Team A five
yards from where the quarterback threw the ball and count the down (also known as a loss of down).

The offical's absolutely made the right call on that play and no amount of pissing and moaning is going to change that.
