Ottawa-Glandorf def. Orrvile 21-20

orrvillian@heartreally Interested to see how Sam follows up that huge game. Their corners should be decent, they pretty well shutdown Carmicheal (triway) and company. The triway Titans lived through the air this year.

tsst_fballfanGood luck Riders!

Drums of WarGood luck Riders from your early season neighbors. I wish you could play a little closer to home. Hopefully next week.
-
RiderFan0205I am still super psyched about this past weekend. Talk about emotional drain. Buckeyes go to overtime for the win and then our Riders take it down to the final minute to secure the victory. WOW!! Hopefully we keep it rolling this Saturday!! Can't get here fast enough GO RIDERS!!
-
RedRider1Good to see all the Riders finding this site.
Any word on a charter bus for fans? Wouldn't be a terrible idea. $15 gets you a seat on the bus and a game ticket. Gonna be a lot of people making the trip, and a lot of our young people making a 2 hour drive home at midnight or so..... -
FlashHow is our injury situation? I didn't see too, many people go down and I didn't see tre limping. It may be the week he needed to get healthy again. We attacked more thru the air last week and may need him this week.
-
RiderFan0205I agree RR1 that taking a bus would be a good idea--especially considering the distance and time of return. My guess is that option will be explored. On the injury front, I believe we came out of that war with some battle bruises but nothing significant that I could tell. Hopefully Tre will be getting close to 100% this week. GO RIDERS!!

O-G shows a lot of I-formation, 1 tight end, 1 slot, and 1 wide out. Sometimes they'll go with 2 wide and maybe 1 RB in the backfield. Basically, just variations of Pro and Con formations. They have a good RB, a very good running QB, and two very good FB's.Flash wrote: What do we know about O-G? I think they have a spread offense. They played Triway in their first game. Talked to some Triway fans and they thought we would match up well.
Their pass defense is their prized possession. They held Kenton and Triway to 4 TD passes total between the two! (2 TD each) I think it's their very good ball-hawking, hard-hitting safeties moreso than their corners.orrvillian@heart wrote: really Interested to see how Sam follows up that huge game. Gr8fanI like the atmosphere over here! JJ's is getting a little more posters now but nothing like it was!
-
Gr8fanI think we match up really good against O-G. They like to run the ball, we have great run defense. We are very balanced on offense, we just have to keep them guessing. Someone made a very good point on the other huddle. Orrville sort of runs a wildcat offense, I have never really thought about that, but I guess that is true. You never know what Joey is going to do with the ball.

Doesn't get any better...OSU/Michigan at noon followed by our beloved Riders...this is a small taste of heaven on earth!RedRider1 wrote: VERY early weather report says sunny high of 54 on Saturday....that's downright balmy for the 3rd Saturday in November.
So will everyone watch OSU/Mich then make the drive?? Gonna be a busy football day.
Info, Map and Pic of the stadium are up at my blog...including one very nice picture from last night's game. -
Gr8fanRR1, That is a very good idea. I don't think we will travel as well as we did last week, and by offering a bus/ticket plan, we could help a lot of the people in Orrville out who probably wouldn't make the trip out there. Plus it keeps the students safe after the game, never know what drunk drivers will be out late at night.

wc expertlike to see that run defense tighten up some - 330 yards is a bit much

Gr8fanNews coming from BRF himself:
The team will be going in chartered busses and they are offering a bus for students at $15 (does not include a game ticket), but still that is worth it, imo. Only two kids indicated interest by the end of the school day, but it was just announced this morning so they are going to give kids a chance to talk to their parents about it and see if there is anymore interest tomorrow before they cancel it. -
beverboy1GOOD LUCK ORRVILLE FROM DALTON
-
RiderFan0205Any predictions of the score? My brother predicted we would beat Genoa by a score of 34-31.
Pretty good guess to say the least.
I see us winning this game 33-21. Thoughts??
GO RIDERS!! GO BUCKEYES!! -

Gr8fanNo need for predictions, look at the mess we had last week. Let's just play this game on the field and let the team decide! Although I am predicting a Rider win

Teddy MaloneO-G’s playoff resume:
8-7 (53.3%), 8th playoff appearance
This is O-G’s 3rd regional championship game, it has never won one.
O-G is 10-2 in 2009, which ties its school record for most wins in a year, and best season winning percentage since 1965, which was its second year of football. O-G finished tied for 2nd place in the WBL, which has an overall playoff record of 76-53 (58.9%). Kenton also made the playoffs this year from the WBL and lost in the regional semifinal. O-G has never played an OCC team in the playoffs. This is the first time since O-G’s 3rd playoff game (2-1) that it has had a playoff record over .500.
O-G’s average playoff score is 28.2 offense and 20.1 defense.
O-G’s average 2009 score is 29.6 offense and 11.8 defense.
Orrville’s playoff resume:
25-18 (58.1%), 20th playoff appearance
1983 Division IV State Runner Up
1985 Division III State Runner Up
1994 Division IV State Runner Up
1998 Division IV State Champ
Plus 4 other regional titles
Orrville is 9-3 in 2009, finishing 2nd in the OCC. OCC teams combined have a playoff record of 44-50 (46.8%), although the OCC formed in 2003. Since 2003, the actual OCC has a playoff record of 11-15 (42.3%). Also from the OCC, Ashland made the playoffs and is still playing in a Division II regional final, and Orrville beat fellow conference member Clear Fork in the 1st round. Orrville is 2-1 vs. WBL teams in the playoffs. The Red Riders swept 2 WBL teams out of the playoffs in 1985, beating Van Wert 35-15 before eliminating Lima Bath 27-8. It’s interesting to note that in that year, four teams made the playoffs in each region, and another WBL team, St. Marys, made the playoffs in that region along with Bath and Van Wert. Bath got its revenge vs. Orrville in a 1992 1st round regional semifinal, 27-0.
Orrville’s average playoff score is 23.0 offense and 20.7 defense.
Orrville’s average 2009 score is 28.3 offense and 17.8 defense.
The WBL is 5-2 vs. OCC teams in the playoffs, with Orrville having the only two wins for OCC teams. The OCC did not form until 2003 though, and all games occurred before that point. -
RedRider1Orrville has had good success against western ohio teams over the years. Wins over Coldwater, Van Wert, Wauseon, Genoa, Willard, and Bath as mentioned above.
