Please, defend that play all you want, but to me, that is a total lack of respect for your opponent, a complete lack of faith in your team, and a complete lack of integrity on Whiting's behalf, and I'd be saying the exact same thing if Ifft or any other team on any other day tried to pull the same kind of stunt.
I think the football gods took notice too, because the overtime period saw Dover outgain NW by a cool 80 yards (+20 to -60) and of course outscore them 7-0.
What play are you even talking about?

And if Big Red plays like they did in the first half against Salem they will get thumped. Hypotheticals are fun eh?

If it wasn't for the fumble at the 20...still not sure HOW it was a fumble, but whatever or the fake punt call(great call by Whiting) Dover wins this by 21 or more...but like I said hypotheticals are fun, but pointless...Dover won, NW sits....its Steubenville week.

Down 21-13 and having been stuffed on three straight plays from the 2 yard line, Whiting calls time out and puts a #98 jersey on one of the NW skill players, then runs a fake reverse handoff to the "lineman" who runs a sweep to score the td that allowed NW to tie the game. Not an illegal play, just a dishonest one that says alot about the head coach.

Last time I checked numbers in the 50s are not eligible to receive a pass. The "skill player" you are referring to was Schilling who plays LB and on the O-line - not exactly skill positions. He actually played WR last year on offense some. How is that a lack of faith in the team? They put the ball in a seniors hands who gave 150% because there was no way he was going to be stopped short of the end zone. There is noting to defend - you may want to defend your stupidity however. Dover should thank the football gods for idiots like the coaching staff and a quarterback who thinks he is superman.

You didn't watch the game, or you're just blind. He wore #98 on the play, so don't go calling people stupid without knowing the facts. Go watch the replay, and watch him ecstatically pull his jersey off after scoring to reveal who he really was, like it was really something to be proud of.

and like I said in a previous post, it wasn't an illegal play, and it wasn't a pass for your information, it was a run. It was certainly a dirty play though

Did he not line up as a receiver? Definitely not a dirty play like the "wrong ball" trick - look it up on youtube. Did NW scoring hurt your pride or what? The only thing dirty is the crap that comes spewing out of the mouths of Doverites like you.

Us Doverites not need to talk about this game anymore. We won. we are playing steuby now. NW will be WATCHING FROM HOME!

Northwest's scoring didn't hurt anyone's pride, we just find it peculiar and, frankly, laughable, that Northwest relied solely on trickery to put points on the board.

If you watched the game (or any of NW's game this season) you would know that particular player changes jersey's throughout the game. I am sure that your coaches saw it during their review of the films in preparation for the game and were not surprised but it in any way. So stop whining!

Great game...great effort by the young men on both teams! Dover fans - enjoy your last game of the season because Red will Roll!

Did you enjoy your last game?

Why after Dover kids beat a team most of their fans root against the kids and use the ''because of the fans'' as an excuse?

    Thats weak...

    That's sour grapes.

Vic Whiting is the epitome of classless when it comes to high school footbal.

We still ran some time, but like you said I would have loved to see us in the Stack or Wing T to run some clock since it had been successful.

I think Ifft probably wanted to try to get a quick first down off some short passes and it back fired after we took a sack on first down.
I am talking about the drive before nw tied it, when we were up by 8 and should have stayed that way. The power I was working, take what is working.

Cats i'm pretty sure you are a Canton South fan. And i wasn't going to go there but now i will. Let me see, 2 ECOL teams going for regional championships. How many NBC teams are left?

I agree with what your saying. Still no answer on the question that you asked. The dover d really stepped up though. Ricky the rocket maz saved the game with that interception. This week will be interesting cause the defensive will be able to go back to stopping the run and not having to defend the pass. The whole night.

Wow, I wondered how long this would take to get UGLY. Both sides in here need to check their egos at the door and realize what we saw here. We saw one of the best, if not the best game in the state in the best facility possible for a HS game. Am I dissappointed at the outcome? Am I frustrated with the mistakes and some coaching desisions? Yes, absolutely, but I am far from coming in here and calling Dover people names. The same from you in Dover. Both sides need to grow up. I will be rooting for Dover in the next round because I saw some amazing heart and ability Friday night, especially from #7. That kid took a pounding and just kept looking for more. In that respect, so did Bach. I think #30 deserves some credit fo getting back up and continuing to produce after the beating the Dover D gave him. This is going to be a great weekend for Football. Dover-Steuby, Mass.-McK., and OSU-Michigan, wow, what a schedule. Good luck Dover, I look forward to doing it again next year! NW, Great Game, Great Season when nobody was giving you a chance in either one. One last note, You all need to give Jones a break, many are piling blame, but if it were not for his skills, and "superman" mentality, the team would never have gotten as far as it did in this game, or this season. I am proud of ALL of them.

    Another good post Drums
Best QB play against Dover since Collaros. Unbelievably elusive. That kid was fun to watch. Dover is very fortunate to come out of that game with a W. (Is he a senior?)
Lots of hard hits in that game. Watched the hit on Bach on replay (by #10)...tough kid, couldnt believe he got up that quickly
Both teams had oppurtunities that were lost. Dover was just able to make it happen in OT
That being said, Dover will need to bring their A game Friday night to have a chance.

Yes, he is a senior. The good news is that the 6'3" sophomore with a rifle for an arm has looked VERY good in slop time this year. Much of which was against starters as we had some big early leads this year. I am looking forward to seeing this kid play full time next year. Looking at the roster, it looks like half of our kids are listed @ WR. Should we be looking for another year of the spread? Possibly with a RB in the backfield as I do not believe #10 is as much of a run threat as Jones. Any thoughts from those closer to the program than I?
